Throne of Glass - Die Erwählte ❕Achtung in der Rezi sind eventuell ein paar kleine Spoiler enthalten ❕ Wart ihr zu Beginn Team Dorian oder Team Chaol? 🙈 Ich muss zugeben ich hab mich aufgrund des Prinzenstatuses beeinflussen lassen und war Team Dorian. 🤭 Ich hatte zwar vor längerer Zeit schon mal den Klappentext von Teil 1 gelesen, aber schnell wieder vergessen und so hatte ich allgemein nie wirklich eine klare Vorstellung worum es in Throne of Glass eigentlich geht. Nachdem wir den ersten Teil endlich beendet haben, stecken wir schon mitten in Teil 2 und ich kann nur sagen: „Ich liebs.“ Ehrlich, es ist wirklich beeindruckend was Sarah J. Maas damals mit 16 Jahren erschaffen hat. Die Idee mit dem Wettkampf finde ich ziemlich cool, hab ich so bisher auch noch nie gelesen. Und obwohl ich irgendwo wusste, dass Celaena den Wettkampf gewinnen und Champion des Königs werden wird, hat es SJM mal wieder geschafft, mich zwischendurch sehr daran zweifeln zu lassen. Was mir auch sehr gut gefallen hat, dass trotz Fantasy realitätsnahe Elemente mit eingebaut wurden, wie zum Beispiel, dass Celaena ihre Periode wieder bekommen hat und wie sie sich dabei fühlt, weil diese ihr während der Zeit in Endovier ausblieb. Das Ende war einfach nur aufregend und hat nochmal alles an Spannung rausgeholt. Man hat auf jeden Fall Lust auf mehr bekommen und vor allem auch weitere Details über Celaenas Vergangenheit zu erfahren. Noch ein funfact zum Abschluss: Da ich in letzter Zeit nur Fantasy gelesen habe, hatte ich total Lust wieder bisschen New Adult zu lesen und war eher etwas demotiviert die komplette ToG Reihe in einem Aufwasch zu lesen, aber jetzt bin ich so drin und finde es so gut, dass das Bedürfnis nach New Adult vollkommen weg ist. 😅 In diesem Sinne, lest Throne of Glass und lasst uns gerne etwas in den Kommentaren darüber quatschen, wenn ihr es schon gelesen habt. Le seul point fort a été l'arrivée de Misha, mon petit coup de cœur de cette histoire ! 💓 Puis, vers le milieu, j'ai raccroché les wagons et accepté de me laisser porter. La lecture est devenue plus fluide. J'étais bien aux côtés de Finn et Brie 🥰 Parce que j'annonce, on est plus que jamais dans le triangle amoureux 💞 Mais Bast, c'est non, cent fois non ! 😤 De toute façon, Brie a d'autres chats à fouetter. D'ailleurs, il s'agit bien d'une romantasy puisque les pérégrinations amoureuses de Brie ont une place centrale —le cœur avant tout les enfants !— 💘 mais elle reste très soft. Ne vous attendez pas à du smut, des scènes romantiques ou juste à de l'intensité. On reste sur du mignon. Sinon, j'ai aimé la dimension éthique et sociétale. Même si Brie n'appréciait pas les faës, elle saura faire la part des choses pour aider les plus faibles et les opprimés. Mais cela ne se fera pas sans sacrifice. 👑 Hatchards, librairie de la famille royale à Londres 👑 Hello booksta ! Pendant mon séjour londonien, j’ai eu la chance de découvrir l’incroyable librairie @hatchardspiccadilly 😍 Inaugurée en 1797, il s’agit de la plus ancienne librairie du Royaume-Uni 🇬🇧 C’est une véritable institution puisqu’elle est un fournisseur officiel de la famille royale. ZERO. E le scene ansiogene con il demogorgone nei primi episodi? Panico puro e io che salto sul divano spaventandomi. ⠀ 🖤 Ma devo ammettere che è stato meglio così! 𝐑𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 „𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡“ Auf welche Reihenfortsetzung freut Ihr Euch am meisten? Ich freue mich schon auf die Fortsetzung der „Kings of Sin“ Reihe von Ana Huang. Ich habe sie zum Glück auch schon zu Hause stehen. Für mich war es das erste Buch der Autorin und da ich schon so viel gutes über ihre „Twisted“-Reihe gehört habe, dachte ich mir, ich versuche es mal mit „King of Wrath“. Ich bin tatsächlich über die Seiten geflogen, die Story war sehr kurzweilig. Vor allem den Grumpy vs. Sunshine Trope habe ich sehr geliebt. Die Protas waren toll ausgearbeitet, vor allem Vivian mit ihrer sonnigen und leicht sarkastischen Art konnte mich vollends überzeugen. Die Story ist spannend, humorvoll und prickelnd. Einen kleinen Punkt Abzug gebe ich den spicy Szenen, die haben mich tatsächlich eher etwas zum schmunzeln oder Augen rollen gebracht. Aber das ist eher Geschmacksache und auch ein wenig dem DR-Genre geschuldet, dass ich lese. Ich hatte sehr viel Freude an dem Buch und empfehle es gerne weiter! KT: Sie ist die Frau, die er nie wollte - und seine größte Schwäche Dante Russo kontrolliert sowohl sein Unternehmen als auch sein Privatleben mit äußerster Sorgfalt. Für die Liebe hat der milliardenschwere Geschäftsmann keine Zeit. Doch dann zwingt ihn eine dreiste Erpressung dazu, sich mit einer Frau zu verloben, die er kaum kennt: Vivian Lau, Erbin eines Juwelenimperiums und Tochter seines größten Rivalen. Wenn ich das Buch hier nicht so oft gesehen hätte wäre es wohl eher nicht bei mir gelandet. Mit dem Cover konnte ich irgendwie nichts anfangen… aber der Farbschnitt war halt dann doch schön und die Story hat mich auch interessiert 🤭 Zu Lesen war es super gut und flüssig, es war mal etwas Anderes, Magie gepaart mit einem Krieg der Götter und einer Romanze. Gern hätte ich noch mehr über die Götter erfahren oder auch über die Welt in der Iris und Roman leben. Auch die Wochentage haben andere Namen, aber dazu fehlte leider die Erklärung. Auch war ich mir nie so wirklich sicher, in welchem technischen Fortschritt sich diese Welt befindet. Die Geschehnisse während des Krieges sind beängstigend und emotional beschrieben. Ein paar Szenen fand ich ein wenig zu „kitschig“, aber das ist lediglich meine Meinung, weil ich halt nicht so auf „Romanzen“ stehe 😉 Alles in allem aber ein sehr schönes Buch mit einem ernsten Hintergrund. Man muss sich nur die Götter „wegdenken“… Das Ende… ja, ein Cliffhanger 😉 Die Fortsetzung hab ich bereits vorbestellt 😁 Klappentext: Während ein erbarmungsloser Krieg zwischen den Göttern herrscht, versucht die 18-jährige Iris Winnow alles, um ihre Familie über Wasser zu halten. Läste klart ”Profeten och idioten” av Jonas Jonasson och egentligen vill jag gilla boken, jag borde gilla den... Men känslan den lämnar efter avslut är mest hunger. Berättelsen går i samma anda som författare som Backman och Paasilinna, den har ett rasande berättartempo och en osannolik historia. Delar av historien är roliga, till och med mycket roliga (älskar hur en utav antagonisterna vaknar upp med poolen full av gödsel och hur Agnes hanterar sina bankaffärer i Zürich) men det är ojämnt. Och jag skulle vilja säga att det är skillnad på osannolika historier och totalt utflippade historier - vilken denna visar sig vara. I'm always weary of books that start off with an HP Lovecraft quote and this was no exception. Lovecraftian horror is not my vibe. I just don't find it scary... at all. So unfortunately this was a miss for me. Was looking forward to being scared and all the reviews indicated that this is in fact one of Stephen King's scarier offerings. The story itself was interesting and well written as always. It just wasn't the best reading experience because I kept anticipating fear where there was none. But I still have 20 unread King books on my bookshelves so I will find what I'm looking for. Meine ~ Rezension ~ zu Wenn Sie Wüsste Autorin: Freida McFadden Verlag: Heyne Verlag, Penguin Random House Meinung: Ich habe von diesem Buch nur gutes gehört und wollte es, nach Veröffentlichung von Band 2, auch endlich lesen. Dieses Buch war der Hit! Die Geschichte war super spannend und war perfekt für ein lesewochenende. Ich habe es verschlungen. Die Charaktere waren super ausgearbeitet und ich war oft mehr als sprachlos über das, was ich da gelesen habe. Ich glaube, ich war selten so wütend und gleichzeitig verwirrt wie in der ersten Hälfte dieses Buches. Die zweite Hälfte? Mit dieser Wendung habe ich definitiv nicht gerechnet, absolut nicht! Und auch dieses Ende habe ich überhaupt nicht kommen sehen. Ich meine, hallo?! Wie bitte?! Was allerdings ein wenig Abzug gebracht hat – ich fand das Ende irgendwie zu flott – alles ging zack, zack – man hätte es noch weiter beleuchten können wie und was Millie mit welchen Absichten jetzt so und so getan hat. Life recently has involved an impromptu trip up to Scotland with work for 2 nights so took Thursday day off to do some activities at the Crieff Hydro hotel that literally offers everything from horse riding, rifle shooting, axe throwing, archery, mountain biking etc. 🏹☀️ and it was the most perfect little get away especially because the weather was just so beautiful the whole time 👏🏼⛳️ i also got to delve deeper into Magnolia Parks The Long Way Home and my goodness they’re toxic but I’m so here for it 😅🩷 also listened to My Dark Vanessa on audiobook on the drive to and from and wow… it’s disturbing to say the least. Not my fave at all, it was just so uncomfortable so I gave this a 2.5 ⭐️🫢 what have you all been up to?

Die letzten Tage war es etwas ruhiger auf meinem Feed. Was wahrscheinlich daran liegt das ich weniger zum lesen komme. Leider. Aaaaber natürlich kann ich dennoch nicht ganz ohne. Momentan lese ich Unwritten Love. Ich liebe den Humor und auch der Schreibstil ist absolut angenehm. Für mich momentan ein Page Turner. Ein Roman der verfilmt werden soll? Lieben wir! Verfilmung mit einem Schauspieler, den sie überhaupt nicht für geeignet hält? Lieben wir noch mehr haha. Livias eckige Art und ihre Liebe zu Büchern ist absolut sympathisch. Das dahinter sich mehr verbirgt, bekommt man als Leser*in erst nach und nach mit. Aber es macht sofort neugierig. Auch Julian versteckt mehr, als seine arrogante, herablassende Art vermuten lässt. Die Chemie zwischen den beiden ist so toll dargestellt. Es knistert gewaltig! It's our kings birthday today so the whole country is celebrating but I want to talk about my king Matteo 😍 I received this book from @stephanieamaralauthor as an ARC. I was so curious about Matteo's story. I noticed I had already read too much since the previous book Savage Temptation so I had to take a moment to recall what that book was about. Matteo is the older brother of Liam who we get to know in Savage Temptation. Matteo and Francesca are engaged to each other but this is a business transaction so Matteo can get a seat in The Commission. Francesca of course is against this marriage but does not know the Matteo is head over heels for her. In this book we read how they fall for each other and the book is full of twists and turns. We also get a little overlap with Savage Temptation in that we meet Liam and Jamie several times in the book. Stephanie did not disappoint me with the well written spice in this book!!! Only major downside to this book.... THE HUGE CLIFFHANGER!!! Damn Stephanie, so not cool! Book Review: All Your Pain by Hana Meadows Swipe for synopsis and speedy review 👀 Okay so I will forewarn that Dean & Willow's story is on the daaaaaark side so for the love of God please read all TW's before you dive into this work. I enjoyed the captor/captive storyline that we jump into quite quickly within the book but I would have like to see a bit more character/story background going on. I feel like we got a lot of action about things but not a whole lot of information about those parts (so I basically wanted a longer book 😂). Dean is a great and protective MC but I will say in the spicy scenes that went out the window so ensure you like your world dark. An MMC who can't feel pain made for an intriguing plot point though and the ramifications that had both good and bad and I feel perhaps things got wrapped up a bit too neatly at the end. Ruby kann sich zwar oftmals schlecht entscheiden, doch an dieser Stelle ist ihre Meinung klar. Sie lässt ihn eiskalt abblitzen. Erst als die beiden für ein Referat enger miteinander zusammenarbeiten müssen, stellen sie fest, dass der jeweils andere doch mehr als nur nett zu sein scheint. Rubys Leidenschaft für die Literatur matcht irgendwie mit Phils Begeisterung für Alien-Filme. Wird es ein Happy End geben? Meinung Ich bin wirklich wieder überwältigt von dem Buch, das mich wirklich zum Schmunzeln gebracht hat. Es ist einfach ein wunderschöner Roman mit ganz viel Ironie und einer grandios eloquenten Protagonistin. Ich liebe diesen selbstironischen Schreibstil von Lena Hach, die mit dieser Geschichte einmal quer durch alle Klischees des Young Adult Genre zieht. Vor allem liebe ich es, wie die Protagonistin Ruby von Klischee zu Klischee schliddert. Dabei wird jedes Trope (wiederkehrende Muster in Geschichten) zwischendurch kurz durch Randnotizen erklärt. Es ist einfach so unglaublich erfrischend, Ruby durch diese Geschichte zu begleiten. Fazit Popcorn süß salzig ist eine wunderbare New Adult Geschichte für junge Lesende über die erste Liebe und Schwärmereien. Es ist eine so herrlich selbstironische Geschichte, die nicht nur Lesenden ab 12 Jahren Spaß machen wird. Ich bin absolut hingerissen von der Geschichte und deswegen ist das Buch auch ein absolutes Highlight für mich.
Patricia Wants To Cuddle by Samantha Allen was the perfect little queer horror comedy I didn’t know I needed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I saw a couple of Goodreads reviews on this which left me intrigued so when I saw it in the library I thought I’d give it a go. I thankfully still went in pretty blind and I’m so glad I did. We follow four girls on a show similar to I believe the show, The Batchelor, although I can’t say I’ve ever seen it. As part of the filming of the finale they go to Otters Island and things are not as normal as they appear… I do not want to say anything more regarding the plot as this is much better read without too much knowledge beforehand. In terms of the story I thought it was quite straightforward but the writing and the character depth really made this a stand out. It’s funny and there’s some good satire throughout plus the horror elements were enjoyable. It’s not too long either and I quite liked the pacing, I read this in two sittings and probably could have read it in all in one go if I’d had the time.
