Pics from our recent trip to Whitby. We went on a @grimmlifecollective Dracula tour. I always super enjoy Whitby, but this day was super awesome. Up the 199 steps to St Mary's church where we find William Swales' grave, his name was used as inspiration from Bram Stoker's book "Dracula", Mr Swales was the first victim in the novel, who was found dead with his neck broken. Then to the Abbey itself, there are loads of Dracula related items in the gift shop there. I've never visited the Dracula/ Bram Stoker dedication bench before. Found a tunnel underneath where it is, you could see my bag glowing in the dark. An excellent day exploring Whitby. Despite the Bank Holiday hordes in the town there was a real sense of tranquility up at the Abbey. A family of recently fledged Mallard ducklings were busy exploring the pond whilst an occasional Swallow would swoop down to grab an insect from the water’s surface. Skylarks sang overhead, Meadow Pipits parachuted and a Pheasant called from deep in the long grass. #yorkshirecoast Drove to northern coast of England. 1st was whitby. Nice 199 steps from town to up the whitby abbey. 2nd was robin hood’s bay. Small village for nice coastal land walking. Missed the low tide for easy walk. But good enough. Found a fossil shop for ammonites. 3rd destination was scarborough. Double coated lines and 12th century castle in the between. 199 STEPS WHITBY Hi all, hope you’re well. As you’ll know from my stories, I’ve been for a fabulous break away in Paris, the city of love, with my hubby. It was so beautiful especially with Spring flowers everywhere & we had an amazing time. Took lots of photos so I’ll share some Paris love on my grid soon. For now though, I wanted to share these shots from my wonderful hometown from a couple of weeks ago, at top of 199 steps. It was a beautiful hazy evening at sunset.
