Park Ups, Portstewart & Murals Throughout our travels I’ve loved finding murals & there’s no where so decorated as Ireland. We had surprise finds, hidden in alcoves & allies and lots of signs, I think it’s going to be a new activity! First night The Strand second night The Crescent, the later has parking restrictions from June. Both easy access to all Portstewart has to offer. As always, when we don’t pay to park we spend money in the local community and over the weekend had drinks at Villa, coffee at Awaken, chippy tea from Superfry & dinner at Harry’s Shack. When traveling to Malta, add this lovely place to your vacay itinerary! 🙂 We spent this weekend on the island of Lošinj (in Croatia) with friends from the States, and strolling around seaside towns reminded me of my visit to Malta last April. I am more of an outdoorsy person, but I do love small, unique towns and villages with charm, which Marsaxlokk certainly has. This tiny fishing village with a port dotted with traditional colorful boats and a harbor front lined with seafood restaurants is perfect for a day of — as not only Italians, but many Mediterraneans would say — “dolce far niente” (the beauty of doing nothing).😌 But if just watching the seagulls and sipping your Aperol won’t cut it — go for a long walk from the port to the Ta’Kalanka Sea Cave and along the bays down to St. Peter’s natural “swimming pool”. I didn’t swim as the sea was still too cold, but I definitely recommend taking swimsuits with you during the summer months! Even if you don’t have a car, you can reach Marsaxlokk easily with a public bus from Valletta (or St. Julian’s) — it takes approximately 1 hour and costs only 2 EUR.
