It’s not because I’m so special but God has poured out His Special Favor on me. Three times my metastasis has been caught early and even my unrelated cancer in my parotid gland was discovered early only because something didn’t feel right after I got my allergies and asthma under control. It’s not me it’s God’s Grace working through me. As I think back no chemo has ever really made me sick. I may not have been an enemy of Jesus that would do anything to keep His Good News from spreading ...but my apathy had hardened my heart regardless. Apathy is an indifference toward something or someone; a distance created to keep one from feeling or caring. Apathy leaves to regret over missed opportunities to DO SOMETHING...to make a difference. Everything that I am, and everything that I do today is not by my own work or efforts but only 100% through Christ’s grace and mercy and love in me. Looking back on my old self, I thank the Lord so much that He got ahold of me. I like me so better when I’m with Him🤍🥰

Finally got all of my new office/studio furniture! You guys!!! I have a desk!!! 😭 Posting this before it turns into a ✨hot mess✨ because, let’s be real, no ones workspace stays this clean 100% of the time. But guess what? THAT IS OKAY. We aren’t called to have perfect homes or be perfect people. In fact, we are told to boast of our weaknesses so that Christ’s power can be made strong in us. As a perfectionist, this is stupid hard for me to remember. I’m so thankful to have these little “Truth for Lies” cards by @thedailygraceco to remind me what God says about me on the days when the lies get loud. 12/10 would recommend.

I’ve been working with my therapist to rewrite my self-narrative about who I have been and who I am now... He pointed out that I talk about my past-self with a lot of negatively-biased language. This is something that I’ve always done, and something that was done to me by others. I was the “problem child”. I allowed myself to believe the narrative that was being made about me and grew into it. I accepted that I was a “bad person” and leaned into the role, hard. I’ve lived through so many horrible experiences, some of which I inflicted upon myself with this toxic pattern, and suffered through so much pain and anger. I have mixed feelings about the hypothetical question, “if you could go back and do life over, would you?” If I was able to take all the knowledge I’ve gained along the way, sure, but not if it meant erasing everything I’ve lived through. The fact that I am sitting here at the age of 30 (an age I genuinely didn’t believe I’d live to), able to hug the scared, lonely child inside me and say, “you are not who they say you are, you are YOU. And you are so so loved by me” ...That is the definition of grace to me. I am who I am, here today, by the grace of God. Every day, every year, every wrinkle, these are the greatest blessings to someone who finally started to love being alive. I would not trade my past for anything, because it made me the strong woman I am today. Most of all, I can finally see that life is worth making it through the hard times and never giving up. That grace given to me was not given in vain, and I hope to reach others through my hard-learned lessons and realization that you are never truly trapped. I love these words of Paul. How true that God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! I remember being very shy as a little girl, yet I became a communications professor! I freaked out when my friend gave me her newborn to hold (not too many years ago), but now I’m a mama of 3! I could go on and on... This passage from today's reading made me reflect of what a person I am now. Every part of my body to every part of my soul, to where I am and who I really am now; all are through the graces of God. And for how far I have grown to my present stage in the midst of bumpy rides and obstacles, it's all thanks to His graces that He has given. At the end of my living years, I'll look back on how I lived my life.. That's when I know His graces given to me are not wasted. You are who you are by the graces of God, Our Father ❤️
