ROTD 117! Arthur Verocai – Arthur Verocai Arthur Verocai released his album Arthur Verocai in 1972 to zero acclaim. So much so, that he was absolutely crushed and decided to give up on music and took up a career in advertising for thirty years. He eventually released his second record Daudade Demais in 2002, after his debut started finding a little success. Two lessons here: one, never give up on your dreams, and two, ignore what the people think is popular. This record did eventually receive its much-deserved recognition with a number of successful artists citing it as an inspiration including Madlib who reckons he “could listen to this album every day for the rest of my life”, and I don’t blame him!
