Skútafoss (the one on the picture) is a small but nice one. It’s located in South-East Iceland, about 20km from Höfn. Surrounded by high and mighty mountains. The parking lot is a short distance from the main road and the waterfall itself is about 700m/0.4mi from the parking lot. I can’t remember the name of this surreal place, but it is a carpet of magical, soft moss in shades of green and yellow. I remember looking at these fields of moss-covered lava rocks in disbelief. If you touch them, they are cold in temperature and generate a lovely sensation in the palms of your hand. Beneath them is frozen molten lava and sand. I was very rigid as a learner landscape photographer, and taking every photo on a tripod was a must. This image, however, was captured handheld. I never thought I would say that, but this is my favourite image of my first trip to Iceland. The choice of adding the human character was also accidental. There were no such trends back then, and I saw my wife standing there, so I asked her to pose. Here we are many years later, and this remains my favourite image. Schlossruine Born in Born (Holland) Bereits im Jahr 1150 wird eine Burg in Born in der Nähe der heutigen Ruine erwähnt. Zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts verfiel die Burg, woraufhin die Familie De Leerodt 1662 mit dem Bau einer neuen Burg begann. Leider wurde das Gebäude, das damals von der Familie Barbou van Roosteren bewohnt wurde, 1930 durch einen verheerenden Brand zerstört. Jeg har været i Island! Det var jeg også for 15år siden, men det var nu rart at opleve det igen som voksen. Og det var fantastisk smukt, kæmpe hyggeligt og ualmindeligt koldt. Naturen i Island er så smuk og rå, noget helt for sig. Jeg kan helt sikkert anbefale at tage til Island, også i april måned.
