Bonjour à tous, aujourd'hui une petite nouveauté ! Cinq duos de pièces... Chacun d'eux est composé d'une "pierre philosophale" et d'une bille en implosion bullée. Pour créer ces pièces je me suis fabriqué un outil en graphite afin de façonner un léger creux dans la matière qui permette à la bille de reposer sur la "pierre philosophale". Ce sont des objets de décoration qui peuvent rentrer dans des cabinets de curiosités, terrarium, vivarium et qui seraient aussi très adaptés à des jardins zen. Ces ensembles de pièces sont à 28 euros pièce et 5 euros pour le frais de port pour la France métropolitaine quelque soit le nombre que vous adoptez. Cela faisait longtemps que je voulais faire ces duos et j'ai décidé de les appeler les "nénuphars". My reply was:’no, not now’,bc it wasn’t life or☠️,& if someone wants/values your input that much,they’ll be patient.Being rushed doesn’t aid creativity Due to tech, 2024 expectations are immediate & people want speedy replies/action to all the many instantaneous ways they can reach us 24/7, 7 days a wk; It’s why I’m not a fan of online dating bc you get bombarded by 100s of dms+ when you only reply to a few to keep it low-key, even those dms multiply😳+ ricochet back/forth on a constant loop😳;it’s not quite like ‘real’ life bc you don’t get any breaks/time to think Lots of professionals get burnt-out too bc they feel a mental ticking-clock going off as soon as they receive an email that requires a response+then the emails morph into 100s-1000+ in a wk,all requiring responses🥴& that’s just emails.. (I wrote in #implosion about how, when teaching,I was due to go on a 2-wk school hols,& my manager told me to have a nice break but then said “don’t forget I need all the data in on the first day back”-ie.,this meant I needed to mark 300+ assessments&60+ mock exam papers over that ‘hols’&upload all the data online=more screens😱so I felt huge pressure & couldn’t actually switch off/relax at all BUT we all need time off to mellow+just be;to get outside🌳🌊+collect our thoughts/chill This is one of the reasons I ❤️’Oppenheimer’ Director,Chris Nolan,bc he doesn’t have a smart phone so he can’t be bombarded 24hr tech=a👌brill tool, BUT we all need breathing space to create our magic✨🤩

🐺I re-watched #thewolfofwallstreet last wk ..I’m a huge fan of Margot/Leo/Scorsese I know that film’s like marmite:you either❤️/hate it! I really like it as I❤️the crazy/risky/entrepreneurial energy of Jordan Belfort (I know his morals=🫣☠️!) & di Caprio’s performance is gold! likewise in #thebeach & esp. #therevenant ) this scene in #wolf 🐺reminded me of my history teaching experiences at a cple of schools (not all of my schools!)bc it can be a bearpit(I’ve taken the culprits off my LinkedIn😮💨!) I taught btwn 2014-feb 2020+here’s what I learnt (see Fern’s Story in my📕 #implosion + in @thetimes article here @emma_yeomans ) I always hated the reductive saying: ‘those who can, do;those who can’t, teach’, but I see it in a diff light now,bc teaching’s often suggested as a default career if post-degree, grads are unsure of next moves, but this means it’s not been chosen vocationally, & without knowing what to expect: So here’s a few honest pro’s/con’s: 1. If you’re an open/colourful person,working with high energy,upbeat teens: it may be too limiting for you bc you may get on too well. As I learnt (🥴),you need to compartmentalise yourself/have v set boundaries 2. Beware of WhatsApp parental groups that act as online witch-hunts, bc some (often more affluent+bored)parents have little better to do than nitpick+as a teacher,you’re an easy target.(I didn’t experience this but teaching colleagues have). Stand your ground💪 3. All schools should provide confidential counselling support for students+now for all staff:(In times of stress, staff are often left to struggle+put under even more pressure bc schools are underfunded+run like businesses+teachers’ workload is insane);Time off for compassionate leave must be offered too! 4. I think teaching is fab for a relatively short period but can suck the marrow out of you, so quit whilst ahead before becoming grizzly/exhausted 5. Teaching the subject you❤️to a roomful of AMAZING students is such an endorphin hit 🎉(that’s the best bit!) I had a👌experience of this at my last school🙏 6. There’s often big power struggles at leadership levels (‘too many chiefs..’) 7. You learn incredible skills for life🙌
