We get a lot of people reaching out and asking what the difference between a Social Worker and Psychotherapist is because we have both types of therapists as part of our team. April is National Stress Awareness Month, so we wanted to highlight a few ways that stress impacts the mind as well as the body. If you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with frequent headaches or insomnia, or are irritable, know that these are all common symptoms of stress. Stress is unavoidable, but we can add simple practices to our day to help manage it. However, it can be hard to make time for things that make you feel good when life feels too busy and overwhelming. Keep in mind: you may have a big to do list, but when you take a break to care for yourself and relieve stress, you're more productive in less time! It's also good to remind yourself that sometimes all you need is 1-5 minutes to feel a difference. Welcome Hansika Khokhar to the London team! 👋🏽 Hansika is our new administrative assistant for our London office and we are so grateful for her support! Hansika is wrapping up her final semester at University of Windsor. She is pursuing an undergrad in Psychology Honours with thesis with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies. Throughout her undergrad journey at University of Windsor, she worked as a Student Ambassador, Resident Assistant, Enactus President, and Journalist for the Lance News. She has also been a Peer Mentor for 1st year Psychology students and worked with the Department of Psychology as a Program Review and Conference Planning Assistant. Mealtime can be a major source of stress for many families. Usually between the ages of 2-4 we commonly see kids start to become more picky. They start developing preferences for foods and may refuse foods they used to like when they were younger. This is developmentally normal and what we expect🍴 We start becoming concerned when their diet becomes very restricted and they are eating only a handful of foods. Especially when there is limited variety and they are not getting the key nutrients they need. The above three signs are good to keep in mind to look out for.
