The program is open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of cancer treatment. Look Good Feel Better is a program that teaches beauty techniques to people with cancer to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. We provide tips and tricks thqt include lessons on skin and nail care and cosmetics helping people with cancer to find some normalcy in a life that is by no means normal. I recently decided to become a volunteer with LGFB to give something back to the community, to do something for charity, to share my passion for skin and makeup, to empower women, give them their confidence back and mainly because I have been touched by some clients/fiends that have recently been affected by cancer and I felt this was a great way of sharing my knowledge. LGFB run workshops all over the country, the workshops are free and can be booked through the website. Yesterday we attended a Look Good Feel Better workshop at the Hamar Centre 💄 @lookgoodfeelbetter Look Good Feel Better run free workshops, led by expert volunteers from the beauty and wellbeing industry, which give practical advice and support to people living with cancer. They launched in the USA in 1989 and now work in 27 countries, they have collectively supported over 2 million people across 6 continents. 🌍 Every workshop offers an invaluable opportunity to talk to others in a similar situation, whilst helping support people with their changing appearance. You know you're good when you can do it with a broken heart 💔 Alrighty folks let's talk about this day/this photo: First off: I like this look!! Last week was blue week in the classroom so I again got to show off another blue look! Some older leggings with a newer #secondhand shirt. Sandals from @shopfillyflair and some jewelry from @francescas a nice mix of my entire closet. 😊 BUT I woke up feeling very sick to my stomach (this is a pretty regular thing....hopefully getting some answers soon) and woke up to the news id be having 2 subs in my classroom (again) which has happened to be quite a lot this year. And as someone who is trying to just ride out this year on the coattails of it being the end of the year, this news doesn't make it any easier. Thankfully, I was granted permission to leave early to go to the Dr for an antibiotic for the sinus infection I was fostering 🙃 and it was a very welcome reprieve. Even leaving 15 minutes early is enough to power me through the craziness. It's so sad that this is what my job has become for me. And I can honestly say leaving this position does break my heart a little bit. When I first started teaching this was all I wanted to do- I had no other goals or ambitions and that simply is just not the case anymore...and what's even more heart breaking is that what I want most in the world is the hardest thing I've ever had to accomplish and it's not coming easy. There is no 'magic piece of paper' or a special Dr I can go to to just make it happen. It's a combination of things that just haven't gone right yet. So today I'm doing a little bit of work from home but I have 2 doctor appointments to hopefully take one more step towards this goal AND get some answers as to something I've been dealing with since December. And I'm trying to decide if I want to take full advantage of my sick day or do some work lololol Let's just see how the day progresses 😅 This week has turned out different than I imagined BUT at least being at home makes the year go faster 😎 we are almost there.....I'm getting so excited for my May trip! 😍 Spring Outfit. Countdown to summer. Teacher life. Teacher problems. Teaching outfits.
