We're just a few days away from opening for the season and the cleaning, primping, and perfecting are well under way to welcome our guests on May 1, 2024. As we enter year four of owning the lodge, we're entirely proud of how far we've come in such a such a short time. Our thanks to staff, guests, and local businesses who have supported us along the way. We walked the property last night and marveled at the changes. Our hard work has paid off in lodging and at our onsite restaurant 368 Maine with Distinguished Restaurants of North America awards for 2023 and 2024, LuxLife Best Fine Dining Experience Maine 2024, a feature article in Decor Maine, and WABI TV, The Washington Post, & Fox news covering the magnificent eclipse. We also won Trip Advisor's Traveler's Choice award for 2024 again this year and are the only one on Moosehead Lake to be awarded the traveler's choice. We have some great changes coming for the 2024 season. Our driveway is being paved for easier accessibility with more parking added. Our guest services coordinator will be readily available for our guests needs, and we have three spectacular chefs who will be managing our culinary program including breakfast, special orders for our guests, and fine dining at 368 Maine. The lodge garden will be planted soon too and house made truffles and biscuit recipes are being tested as I write! 368 Maine will have expanded open days starting in mid-June. And our new sound system will enhance your dining experience on our back deck while you dine and watch the glorious sunsets. We all must do our part and here at The Lodge at Moosehead Lake, we have several green initiatives to help that cause. All the scraps from our kitchen are put in our composter and turned into black gold for fertilizing our garden. A Belated SeboomaEclipse Post While Mother Nature has been a bit of a beeotch in the last year, Eclipse Day came very close to making up for her attitude. Not a cloud in the sky in Seboomook - an indescribable, sharp blue as far as the eye could see. SeboomaEclipse Fest was a very small affair. There were 13 of us in total and in true Seboomook fashion, it took planning and creative effort to make it happen. The Norman and our “make-it-happen” patron saint and buddy, Tom Monroe, poured over FB marketplace, found an old truck on tracks and procured it. Tom picked it up from downstate and delivered it to Pittston Farm where Norm then drove it into the Kingdom, completing the Seboomook relay. There wasn’t much cab room and the tracks lob snow and mud up into the bed, so the Norman (aka Homer😎) fashioned a cap and with careful maneuvering, using the old John Deere tractor, the two of us managed to get it up into the bed of the truck and secured with rachet straps. It was slow going but Norman was able to get everyone in and out from Pittston in comfort and what we like to think of as “style”. There was great food! There was laughter! And we were filled with the warmth of friendship and the memories we were making! On Eclipse Day, we all sat out on the front porch of the store wearing our very cool Eclipse glasses, singing kitschy sun and moon songs from NASA’s excellent playlist, and together we watched day fade into night in the sun and moon’s breathtaking waltz. It was nothing less than extraordinary. And then as the moon slid away from in front of the sun and the diamond ring in the sky faded and the sky reclaimed the day with that vibrant blue, our dear, beloved friend and long-time Seboomer, Chris Lovell, pulled his own ring out from the pocket of his Mobil sign sweatshirt, and proposed to his girlfriend, Megan – also a die-hard Seboomer! And so completed SeboomaEclipse - an indescribable memory written on all of our hearts – which were so full up from the entire weekend…nothing like the memories made in Seboomook! 🔥⛺️♥️♥️♥️⛺️🔥 #eclipse #makingmemories #mooseheadlake #maine #seboomookwildernesscampground

We were invited down to Waldoboro, Maine to visit with Lakin's Gorges Cheeses. We were delighted to taste a full array of cheeses, some grilled steak from their farm and had a lovely tour of the barn.
