I can hardly believe I'm writing this as my heart is broken into a million pieces and my soul is incredibly lost. On May 1, 2024 at 7:20pm my beautiful sister lost her 1yr 4 month battle with Breast cancer. She fought like a warrior until the bitter end. She truly believed in her heart and spirit that she could and would be victorious. Tragically her body was riddled with this awful disease and she barelyhad a chance. I can't even process this horrific heartbreak and tragic loss. I don't know how to move forward without my sister.. She was so very young at 53yrs old and had so much more to live for. I met @pinkhugs4u less than 6 months ago through our mutual tattoo artist. Thank you, @jeffaddztattoo for the intro! Jennifer and I are on 2 separate breast cancer paths. Me a survivor and advocate and her an amazing breast cancer navigator helping those in need make sense of this horrible diagnosis. She provides resources, advice and an ear. A true blessing to the breast cancer community. Earlier this week I received another request from my doctor asking for more bags...they already ran out of the boxes and boxes I delivered in December. 😪 Of course I said yes and got to work taking inventory to see what I could put together. I had most of what I needed but was missing one essential item. I sat back, and Jennifer popped into mind. I sent her a quick text and 3 days later I was driving away from her office with a trunk full of bag items! I can't thank you enough, Jennifer!! 💗 As sad as it makes me to have made and donated over 550 bags to date, it warms my heart to know that there are people out there like Jennifer and each and every one of you that have ever donated to this cause. Dear @wsj My mastectomy wasn’t a boob job. In fact it was the exact opposite, it was an amputation. Then I was faced with the IMMENSE amount of pressure to undergo an exploitative process of reconstruction, your “boob job”. I didn’t. I chose not to have reconstruction—not because I wanted to be boobless (and bald at the time) but because I saw no other choice because a mastectomy is NOT a boob job. A mastectomy with reconstruction is an EXHAUSTING process full of multiple surgeries, expansions, revisions and sometimes rejections and complications. I was TERRIFIED of that process, I was terrified of the possibility of complications, especially since I had just spent six months of my life trying to kill my cancer with literal toxins. Six months where my life was completely put on hold, where I couldn’t sleep next my 3 year old some days because I was radioactive, couldn’t pick him up from school, where we couldn’t go on trips, couldn’t be around a lot of people, where even taking a shower felt like a marathon. Where I lost my hair, my independence and my dignity. I’ve been told I’m “less feminine” , that my husband “will leave” me. I’ve been asked if I was transitioning. Say hello to the wonderful Lydia 🤗 Lydia received both a radiotherapy and chemotherapy Box through our Little Kindness Fund, after being diagnosed with breast cancer aged 28. Lydia was diagnosed in April 2023, with Her2+ grade 3 breast cancer, that had spread to her lymph nodes. Two weeks prior, Lydia found a lump and said she 'instantly knew it was cancer'. She began 8 rounds of chemotherapy in May 2023. In December, she had a single mastectomy and full axillary lymph node clearance. What Lydia said about her Little Lifts' care Boxes: 'I received a chemotherapy Box in the post last summer, and all the attention to detail put a smile on my face. Everything is perfect for treatment use and opens your eyes into using natural products! Today in February 2024 I received my radiotherapy Box, again by post. I applied for it only 3 or 4 days ago!
