Her family could not handle her activity level and believed she needed much more then they could provide since one of them was also very sick. They did right by Stella and now we are looking for her furever home! She weighs 15 pounds and is basically full grown, she’s a small girl with so much love to give! We know she’s going to be very popular but Stella does need a specific home. A patient family that is understanding she will need a few days to decompress and learn to trust you and her new environment. She is really nervous at first meeting new people sometimes, so a slow and steady approach is best for her. Sadly she was under socialized so a home willing to show her that the world is okay would be amazing. Once this gal comes around she is a complete gem! She will shower you with kisses and all the love in the world. She attaches to her person and loves them unconditionally. Stella also would really thrive having a fenced yard. She likes to go to the bathroom off leash in a fenced area and she especially loves to do zoomies and run around to play. She does great with other dogs, we are hoping she will have a playful, fun and out going fur sibling in her furever home! You should see her chase her foster brother around! Lastly, a family or at least one person home a lot is needed for her! She’s not really used to being home alone much as her previous mom was home all the time due to her illness. We don’t want to see this girl stressed out anymore then she needs to be when entering her furever home! She deserves to be loved and never given up on! Hi there, my name is Hoss and I’m looking for a home to call my very own! I am a 18 month old, 90 lb giant schnauzer. So you can imagine that when I enter a room I make an entrance!! Life hasn’t always been easy for me though. I was surrendered because the dog in the house kept picking on me. That caused me to be scared of other dogs and I would growl and bark to let them know I was afraid. If I’m being honest I would thrive in a home as an only dog with a big fenced yard for zoomies. I love playing with my squeaky toys in a yard too! I do think i would be a great helper! I love helping make dinner in the kitchen. I am ready to go just incase there is a clean up that’s needed on the floor. Sounds like a win win situation if you ask me. If you’re cooking chicken be sure to save some for me since it’s my favorite! I also have an incredible sense of sight, hearing, and smell which can be put to good use with proper training. I’m very food motivated and eager to learn training tools to make me a better version of myself! And as much as I like being outside, I am just as happy inside cuddled up next to my people. I promise I will be your loyal buddy who just happens to think they are a lap dog! Just keep the belly rubs and head scratches coming and I will melt in your arms. I will say I don’t mind being in my crate though if 90lbs on your lap gets to be a bit much or if you need to go out and run errands. Special needs gal!! Y’all this puppy is perfection! Even though she has been through so much in her short time on this earth, her personality shines SO bright. Meet Wei Wei- This adorable 3 month old 10ish pound golden retriever mix puppy is looking for her furever home. Full grown we expect her to be around 50-60 pounds. She gets her name from the person who saved her life. Luckily an awesome samaritan with this last name found her lying in a ditch, almost too far gone with an awful infection up and down her front leg. We are incredibly grateful he picked her up and took her directly to the vet office. Wei Wei has gone through lots of medications and surgeries to make sure she fully heels and she has made huge improvements! Although we had to amputate her front leg, you would never know it! That does not let this gal slow her down! She’s always ready for a new adventure or to play rough and keep up with the big dogs! She’s even great with cats! She is spayed and caught up to date with vaccines. She will also get her health certificate prior to adoption. We don’t want her special needs to limit her on a furever home. Anyone would be lucky to get this baby, we know she’s going to make a great companion and new family member! This pup is ready for her furever to manifest! What is a Hybrid Class? We’ve been getting this question a lot for our upcoming class, Trail Blazers. A hybrid class is both in person and online. Let’s take a look, 🐾In Person Training For Trail Blazers we are holding 4 workshops where we’ll be meeting in person as a group to work on skill building right on trail. Then the last 2 events are guided hikes. This will be more of a half-day outing where we’ll decide on a trail together and enjoy the day! 🐾Online Training Dog training is two fold; training the dog AND training the human. Our In-Person workshops will be essential for hands on dog training and human learning too! Online training will allow us time to go over other critical lessons like how to handle an off leash dog, how and if to allow dogs to greet on trail, and trail etiquette. 🐾Online Support When you take a group class you have to hold yourself accountable to do your homework each week. In our class support group (here on facebook) you’ll get regular reminders to practice your homework and we’ll host challenges and games to keep you motivated. UPDATE Dora ADOPTED 🐾🥰 And just like Dora on the TV show I’m ready to explore a new area with a family to call my own! I am a one year old dachshund mix and I weigh 15 pounds. Perfect size for you to take me along on all your adventures! I’m learning while being at my foster mom’s house that I love dogs! I tend to like the smaller dogs more probably because they’re around my size, but I am warming up to the bigger dogs. I am super playful with them and we have the best time running around chasing each other in the yard. If you have a yard, I can run around in, that would make me so happy! I do see there’s a cat at my foster mom’s house, but I haven’t done more than just sniff the cat in passing. I don’t think that would be an issue for me if you had a cat in your home but slow introduction is always important. I am still getting the hang of being a dog in a home and I’ve been learning to use the doggy door to go outside when I need to go potty. So I understand that I need to go outside, but I will just need some more lessons to make sure that I understand the rules in my new home. When I do go outside I love to sunbathe, the warmth of the sun just feels so good on my doggy body! One last thing you should know about me is that I love to cuddle my humans. UPDATE Teddy ADOPTED 🐾🥰 I’m looking to find my forever home. I am a four year old. Shih Tzu mix and I weigh 10 pounds. I was surrendered because of my grooming needs, I promise I will be looking really sharp by the time I make it to your home! It’s sad that I got surrendered just because I needed to be groomed because I really am a great dog! I love hanging out at my foster mom’s home with all the dogs, we get along so well! We like to run around and chase the ball whenever we get a chance and whoever gets it first gets to throw it again and we all go running. It’s quite a show if you can imagine! I’ve even been around a cat and it’s safe to say that we get along pretty well so no need to worry about me with any animals! I am still doing my best to meet as many humans as possible. I get little nervous sometimes when I meet new people. But if we take things nice and slow, I will warm up quickly and be your new best friend. This week we'll be placing a spotlight on three dogs who are searching for their forever families. Bandit, Takota, and Rusty are this week's ARLNH Pets of the Week! Bandit - Bandit is a beautiful 1-year-old Australian Shepherd who'd love to find an active home where he can keep busy. He enjoys hanging out with his people, and to him, there's no better game than fetch! Bandit has lived with cats and children before, and he may be open to living with another dog. Bandit would make the perfect adventure companion, whether that be hikes, runs, or walks! Takota - You may have seen Takota when he was our Pet of the Week over a month ago; he's still here patiently waiting for his forever home. He's 100 lbs of affection, energy, and cuteness! Growing up as a farm dog, he never received any formal training, so at 2 years old, he's still working on learning some proper manners (like not jumping on people). Takota is a big goofball who's searching for a home where he can let out his endless energy, go on adventures, and receive lots of love. Takota may be open to living with another dog. UPDATE Hank ADOPTED 🐾🥰 This handsome hound mix is looking for his furever home here in New England. We think he may be mixed with a Carolina dog or something else as well. He’s a year old and weighs roughly 50 pounds! Perfect sized dog to go with you on all of life’s adventures. He will happily go with you on hikes or anywhere exploring the out doors. He loves smelling new things and meeting new people. He’s a very happy go lucky boy that aims to please and is incredibly sweet with all. Hank sadly has a sad story. Our rescue partners kept getting calls about him, he was found on the side of the highway laying next to his dead siblings. They were sadly hit by cars and he never left their side. It’s heartbreaking that happened to them and he was so loyal to never leave them. He’s such a good boy that just wants a family of his own. We are lucky to have taken him into the rescue, we know we can find him the perfect home. He sure deserves it. Hank does amazing with all people and all dogs! He’s met dogs that are small and big and does great. He really makes friends with everyone. He is house trained and crate trained as well. This boy is just such an incredible dog! We can not wait to see him go into his furever home. He is neutered and caught up to date with vaccines. He will also get his health certificate prior to adoption.
