Our amazing Gardener Flynn has been tending to the gardens at the McMenamins Kennedy School property and we just wanted to take Earth Day to appreciate the results of all of their love and dedication! Flynn gave us a little bit of info on these flowering plants and where to find them. These photos are gorgeous, but trust us, photos don't do these lovies any justice! Stop by Kennedy School and take a gander through the gardens! 🌷🪻 🌼The Yellow Fawn Liles (Erythonium) are tucked in the shade along the sidewalk in front of the building. They’re a cultivar called ‘Pagoda’. 🌼The Mouse-Tail Plant (Arisarum proboscideum) flowers are tucked below its low-growing foliage along the north sidewalk. They’re really strange; their flowers are so difficult for pollinators to navigate that they have trouble escaping them. By the time they get out of there, they’re covered in pollen. 🌼The Red Barrenwort (Epimedium rubrum) is a ground covering plant with heart-shaped leaves and vibrant color. 🌼The Chinese Magnolia (Magnolia laevifolia) smells like lemon cake (find us sitting by these all spring long - they smell amazing) and it's just behind the sign on the Southwest corner, covered in blooms. #pnwgardens #nativeplants #oregonflowers
