We started out our 2024 Vorlie Gym Tour yesterday at Crunch Fitness in Sioux Falls, SD. Itโs an oversized Planet Fitness with some real weights, so it was just alright, but our workout was great! Todayโs Sunday adventure saw us gear up and leave the house just after 8am. Followed the road through Wookey Hole, passed Ebbor Gorge (that hill was a killer) and in to Priddy. From Priddy we followed the West Mendip Way out to Cheddar. The views were spectacular and the weather was kind. Quick coffee and a pasty on Cheddar and then back to Wells via the main road and the strawberry line from Westbury to Easton. A bit dicey at times but the most direct route. 18 miles over 40,000 steps safe to say we both now feel a little broken. Time is precious. Now the kids have all left home we don't see them as often as they are busy with their own lives. On Sunday Adrian was able to see 2 of his 3 sons. They both live together so have to put up with each other's bad habits now, with that said they have both turned out to be good young men. It makes a parent proud to see when their children are living their own lives, looking after themselves & being adults. We miss all of our kids but could not be prouder of all of them & how far they have all come. Being Empty Nesters can be amazing & exciting but there are times when we sit here & miss our kids. Its nearly 12months since we have had a house full of people, yelling & opinionated young adults, smelly bedrooms, disagreements, jealousy, missing food, growing containers & all the fun things that sometimes we miss. But I sit there & look at them now & are proud of who they are & how far they have all come in their lives. With our youngest now being 18 & the eldest being 27, they have all fought their own personal demons but have made their own life choices & came out the other end stronger than ever. We try as a family to catch up when we can but that is not always possible due to their own lives & partners, so I always make a conscious effort to talk to my daughters every couple of days & tell them how much I love & adore them. I also have my 3 Stepsons who I classify as my own sons & am proud to be their stepmum. All my kids know I am here for them anytime of the day or night for a chat, coffee, catchup anything they need. Just remember that you only have 1 life & you need to make each day count. Always tell the people who matter most that you love them. One saying my kids always heard from me is Actions Speak Louder Than Words & I believe that with everything in my life.
