Are you sometimes confused and tired of current situation? Honestly, all of us are. Posture in the pictures is called wrrior 2, Virabadrasana 2. Life is combination of different scenes from the loveliest to the scariest one. I love the theme to be flexible to flow with the stream and at the same time super strong and disciplined to treat our daily battle scenes like challenges happening in our physical and emotional life and believe me you don’t need to be a perfect warrior. To get there, there is no need to move a huge stone or be a super hero. Starting a yoga practice can be a very helpful step. Stay tuned with me on social media to get through this all together. Been a bit quiet since the opening of my solo show “Impermanence”, had to recover a little bit from the energy spent in putting it all together, but I can now finally have the space to share how it went and some wonderful snaps that the talented @workwithraewyn took on the night. . To begin I just want to say how absolutely grateful I am for everyone that came, helped and of course a big Thank you to @the_village_kitchen_kurrajong for giving me the opportunity to exhibit and host the opening. I was blown away with people traveling 2 hours to get to the show and show their support and for everyone that came to see the work! It meant so much and I definitely felt the love! So Thank you! . It was also so meaningful to be able to share the story and process behind these works which I did through the artist talk and then to hear how it translated to the people who listened who resonated with it. . I feel even more encouraged now to keep exploring the lessons and experiences I have in life through my art as a way to open a dialogue and provide hopefully a way to bring about more peace, understanding and love in this world. . So incredibly grateful for all the people in my life that have helped me believe in myself and in my art. And in particular a big shout out to this beautiful soul - Angie from @lovelifeandglutenfree who was one of the first who saw my work and was like “this is special, keep going with this” and not to mention then bought 7 pieces to show me how much she believed in me! In my recent body of work that explored emotions, she also played quite a pivotal role. Before the series emerged I was trying to create something else which was not working, and after having a conversation with Angie, I allowed myself to let it all go, and then these 3 artworks came into form - which were the favourites on the night, and have now been sold and are with their new owner. . I have been pretty quiet after my exhibition which has now been a week ago. The show took so much energy to create so needed some time to recoup. Now that I have, it’s been so lovely to look at some of the photos from the night, and bring myself back to the wonderful night that it was. I was so incredibly grateful to everyone that came and so incredibly grateful to all the help I had to bring it together to life. I could not have done it on my own and totally can see that if you want to create something bigger than yourself, than you really need more people than just yourself ;) Because the space where I was exhibiting didn’t have any white walls, as a typical gallery would, I needed to present my works on white boards to give it the white space they need to shine. A huge thank you to @globalartsolutions for coming up with the genius idea to have them suspended from the roof and for helping me to install and pull it all off! (not to mention all in a tight 3 hour set up time frame). Also a big thank you to @raewyn__ #raewynsnapsforyourbiz for taking these amazing photos!
