El pescador El Pescador is a tribute to the fishermen who work on the coasts and rivers of Colombia. A sense of respect, affection and appreciation is revealed in the words of this short but meaninful music. The song was composed by José Barros, and interpreted by Totó de Momposina. Totó la Momposina was born in 1940 in Talaigua Nuevo, Bolívar, Colombia. She is a folk colombian singer with Afro-colombian and Indigenous descent, and has an active career since 1964. Her music combines african and indigeneous elements, such as rhythms and folk melodies.
