O Álfablot ou Sacrifício aos Elfos como também é conhecido, é uma antiga celebração nórdica das crenças pagãs dos povos escandinavos antes da cristianização, esse ritual era realizado durante o período do outono, era realizado para garantir a fertilidade e os anos de paz na comunidade. O propósito do Álfablot é honrar os elfos e os espíritos da terra e os nossos ancestrais. A prática do Álfablot era uma cerimônia privada, conduzida dentro das fazendas ou lares familiares, tanto que nessa época a hospitalidade dos antigos escandinavos de receber os viajantes em suas casas ficavam mais restritas. Hej ! Aujourd'hui nous sommes le 30 avril et nous célébrons Valborg (ou Walpurgis). Valborg est l'abréviation de Valborgdmässoafton, "le dernier jour d'avril". Souvent associé au sabbat des sorcières, cette fête célèbre surtout la fin de l'hiver. En Suède, à la nuit tombée, on allume des grands feux réalisés avec les branchages de l'hiver, autour desquels les gens se rassemblent pour entonner des chants célébrants le printemps et un avenir meilleur. Le festin est généralement composé de saumon mariné à l'aneth avec du schnaps. Associés au fête viking du printemps, il était coutume de faire du bruit durant cette fête pour éloigner les loups et les esprits malfaisants surnaturelles afin de pouvoir sortir les bêtes aux prés, sans encombre, dès le lendemain. Walpurgis a été associé par le christianisme au sabbat des sorcières et à une fête de la luxure. En effet, dans les traditions païennes, c'est durant cette nuit que les divinités de la fertilité et de la fécondité s'accouplaient dans la nature pour mettre fin à l'hiver et ensemencer la Terre. L'église interdit la fête en transformant les divinités en démons et sorcières. Pour finir, Valborg marque aussi la reprise de la Chasse Sauvage. La saison sombre arrivant à son terme, Odin et Hel reprennent leur chasse afin de ramener tous les esprits errants, qui hantaient les vivants durant la période morte, à Helheim. Ce blót est donc aussi une célébration liée à la magie et au monde des Esprits.
