Boyanská cerkov (svetové dedičstvo UNESCO) sa nachádza na okraji Sofie a pozostáva z troch budov. Východná cerkov bola postavená v 10. storočí, potom bola začiatkom 13. storočia rozšírená o druhú dvojposchodovú budovu. Fresky v druhej cerkvi, namaľované v roku 1259, z nej robia jednu z najvýznamnejších zbierok stredovekých malieb. Posledná tretia cerkov bola postavená začiatkom 19. storočia. Boyanská cerkov je jednou z najkomplexnejších a najdokonale zachovalých pamiatok východoeurópskeho stredovekého umenia. The eastern church was built in the 10th century, then was enlarged at the beginning of the 13th century by a second two storey building. Se declaró Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1983. Se trata de un recinto amurallado en cuyo interior se encuentra el monasterio decorado en el estilo cristiano ortodoxo. Hay un parking justo en la entrada que cuesta muy poco, por lo que no merece la pena dejar el coche fuera de párking. Ten minutes was all the time that we were allotted. I was disappointed. Minutes earlier we had arrived at Boyana Church, a late tenth century church that had been built in the foothills of Vitosha mountain and now lay on the outskirts of Sofia in a leafy, wooded desirable suburb in which smart residential properties were springing up. Neither the constraint of time nor the advances of modernity could detract from the simple beauty of the frescoes that lay within the small church. I gasp in awe at both the colour and detail of the frescoes when entering the small inner sanctum. The first layer of frescoes date from 11th to 12th century but it is the second layer of frescoes which date from 1259, nearly 800 years old, and draw breath and admiration – they are one of the most complete and well-preserved monuments of medieval art in the Balkans. The life of St Nicholas is depicted throughout but it is the portraits of Tsar Konstantin Asen and his wife Irina that stand out. They are astonishingly realistic. There are hints of perspective. This was the precursor to the Renaissance. This was history in the making. My disappointment was temporary. The UN office in Geneva released this one when the frescoes from the Boyana church, located next to Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia were listed as UNESCO world heritage. They are considered to be among the precursors of what would flourish some 60 years later in Giotto’s Florence. Je passe souvent par cette application pour réserver des activités lors de mes voyages. 🔸 𝗜𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗮: 𝒖𝒎𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒋𝒂𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒂 𝑩𝒖𝒍𝒈𝒂́𝒓𝒊𝒂, 𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒆́ 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒐́𝒏𝒊𝒐 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒂 𝑼𝑵𝑬𝑺𝑪𝑶. 🇧🇬 Depois de visitarmos o Mosteiro de Rila e de explorarmos a zona envolvente, fomos conhecer a Igreja de Boyana. Sim sim sim, eu sei que é mais uma capelinha! 🙈 Mas como não amar estas construções incríveis, cheias de histórias, que sobreviveram ao passar do tempo durante séculos? Desculpem, mas eu sou fã! E não importa a religião que cada uma apregoa (com todo o respeito por todas e sem seguir nenhuma), a verdade é que muitas delas são verdadeiras obras de arte, que já não se constroem nos dias atuais. A Igreja de Boyana é uma igreja ortodoxa situada em Boyana, a poucos quilómetros de Sófia, e é outra das mais importantes igrejas da Bulgária. O edifício, de dois pisos, está formado por três alas. Trocando por miúdos, é como se a igreja fosse dividida em três partes, que foram construídas em séculos distintos, mas todas ligadas entre si (falarei melhor disto nas stories). Apenas se pode visitar o piso térreo, não é possível fotografar o interior, as visitas são feitas com pequenos grupos e cada grupo só pode permanecer 10 minutos dentro da igreja (há mesmo um senhor que liga um cronômetro para controlar o tempo 😅). O que torna esta igreja tão importante e faz com que sejam necessários tantos cuidados são os seus afrescos, considerados os afrescos mais completos e melhor conservados da arte medieval da Europa. Em 1979 foi declarada Património da Humanidade pela UNESCO, mas o mais curioso é que, o facto de estar de pé atualmente, é uma sorte. Isto porque, em tempos, o povo quis deitar a igreja abaixo para constituir uma nova e tal tragédia só não aconteceu graças Eleonore Carolin, uma antiga princesa búlgara, que doou um terreno para que se pudesse construir uma nova igreja sem que destruíssem este tesouro. Morreu em 1917 e foi enterrada ao lado da igreja, tal como desejava. There's also a limited number of people and time limit (of 10 mins) for staying inside with the ticket. These are precautions to protect the interior and frescoes of the church. 🖼️ If you visit Sofia, it would be worth to visit this place though you could only stay inside for 10 mins. It is small but packed with meaningful well preserved frescoes inside. Zadnji dan u Sofiji provele smo u kvartu Vitosha, koji se nalazi odmah u podnožju istoimene planine. Posjetile smo Boyanu, crkvu iz 10.stoljeća koja je pod zaštitom UNESCO-a. Iznutra je lijepo oslikana i sačuvana, a najpoznatija je po svojim freskama koje pružaju jedan od najkompletnijih i najbolje očuvanih primjera srednjovjekovne pravoslavne umjetnosti. Nakon ovoga bilo je vrijeme za šetnju po šumi. Iako nažalost nismo stigle do velikog vodopada, jer smo žurile na avion, i ovo je bilo dovoljno da se uvjerimo koliko je priroda lijepa čim se malo izađe iz grada. Šećer na kraju bile su mekitse, bugarsko jelo slično našim uštipcima ili „poderanim gaćama“, a punjene slanim i slatkim kombinacijama. Savršen kraj ovog divnog putovanja!
