⏰ Welcome to another #TimeMachineTuesday. Today we're highlighting the 1936 BMW 319 Cabriolet. What happened in 1936? The first production model PPC streetcar was placed in service. The "PPC" ("Presidents' Conference Committee") - later renamed the "Electric Railway Presidents' Conference Committee" (ERPCC) - had a mission to design a streamlined, comfortable, quiet and fast accelerating and braking streetcar. Fun fact: Chicago Surface Lines placed an order for 83 cars in 1938, and would later go on to have the largest PPC fleet ever purchased new by one city - 683 cars! We’ll have activities around the outside of the planetarium where attendees will be encouraged to walk around, hang out, and observe the sky while the eclipse is happening. My family and I visited the Field Museum today. Their exhibit on the ancient americas was fascinating. The museum store had a phenomenal selection of fiction and nonfiction texts by native writers. I picked up two that have been on my TBR for a while now. Leslie Marmon Silko is one of my all time favorite writers. I was so excited to find this copy of The Turquoise Ledge. I’ve also heard great things about Darcie Little Badger!
