One fact about me (that’s not as obvious as the Disney obsession💀😅) is that I am chronically ill. I have a disease for which there is no cure and it affects me and will affect me for life. The disease I have is stage four endometriosis, it’s a very painful disease that has already attached my uterus to my bowels with scar tissue and it has already begun spreading elsewhere. It’s hard not to let an illness become who you are especially when it starts to take the things from you that you love. There are a lot of activities, foods, places and people who don’t have a place in my life anymore due to my illness and I don’t ever want Disney to be another thing that slips away or gets taken. I think maybe that’s part of why I made this Instagram, to make sure that even though I can’t go to the parks (because of COVID now) and maybe I won’t be able to go to them in the future (because of my illness & how painful it is to travel), that I don’t lose how much joy and hope these parks bring me. It’s hard to have hope when you are in pain a lot of the time. Disney brings so much hope. I used to be the type of person who wasn’t someone who celebrated joy too often, I would criticize or make a joke..maybe even at some point would have had a laugh over “being a Disney adult”..but that’s a really big regret of mine..life is too short to spend any time at all miserable or making others miserable. The parks give me a refresh, a reboot, and something to look forward too after I leave. Its making unbelievable memories with my family that we hold on tight too. There’s been so much going on that we didn’t have the spoons to post! But we’re back with a late Halloween / Birthday post! Sarah and I spent Halloween comfortably, at home in some onesies! 🦕🐉 We spent the day celebrating our favorite holiday with their family by baking, playing Halloween themed games, and watching spooky season movies. The day after was my birthday! I turned 21, so naturally I wanted a dinosaur themed party😂. We watched one of my favorite movies, Jurassic Park, and dressed for the occasion. I was a tourist at the beginning of the day, and ended as a tourist who was eaten by a dinosaur! My sister-in-law also made me a dinosaur cupcake cake. It was the perfect covid birthday in my mind! 🦖🦕 In my birthday pictures Sarah and I are wearing bottle cap earrings with little dinosaurs painted on them. This challenge came at the perfect time because Sarah and I recently had a Barbie themed tea party with their sister and our friend to watch the newest movie! To start off, Sarah and I dressed as Bibble and Dizzle from the Barbie fairytopia series. Sarah’s outfit is actually a repurpose of a Sully Disneybound! The Pumpkin King has returned! 🎃 This is another throwback Disneybound as Amy and I both recover from medication changes! This is also for the Tim Burton Day of #scaremeseptember by @jensohappy @deadly_777 and @themagicheartist ! Jack is actually a good model for my illness. I have EDS which means all of my connective tissue is a little bit messed up, and my joints go out of place very easily. As Jack says himself “Since I am dead, I can take off my head to recite Shakespearean quotations”. And while I can’t entirely take off my head, it sure feels like I could at times! Today we have a throwback bound for #thenextrightbound by @magicwithmelissa and @a.disney.saranade ! This is a throwback post all the way back to when the movie first came out and my family Disneybounded to go see it. TW: depression, suicide attempt mention, ED mention I love that this challenge is for #suicidepreventionawareness because, as a suicide survivor myself and as an unmedicated fifteen year old when this picture was taken, I was very doubtful that I would make it to 20 years old. In these pictures I was badly depressed. I was newly diagnosed with POTS but had no treatment. I didn’t know how my life would be affected by this, but I knew that there was a possibility I would not be able to pursue my dreams and I thought that was the worst fate that could befell a person. Fast forward 5 years and I am my fifteen year old self’s worst nightmare. I am not in school. I am not an actress. My life revolves around my illness. I’m fat and at the height of my eating disorder, that would have terrified me. But I am so happy. I am on medication that helps me from becoming too depressed, my life may revolve around my illness but at least I’m not denying that I have it anymore. And I am loved. I am happy. My joy has returned and while I still get depressed sometimes, I am so much better. I was sorted into Slytherin when I took the Pottermore test at age 11 and have stuck with it ever since, even tho I now test as a Hufflepuff instead. I believe that you can be ambitious as a Slytherin, but be ambitious for more than just yourself. You can be cunning and use it to help a group a people. With today’s release of Mulan we brought you a Disneybound to remind you to stand up against injustice and support causes that make you a true hero. The original Mulan movie is a personal favorite of ours but with the live-action release we remind you to consider the political connotations of supporting films. We in no way agree with the statements made by Liu Yifei that support police brutality and will stand against that. However, it does make me sad to throw away a whole movie because of one actor when there are so many other actors and crew who worked to make this film beautiful. So, while my family did purchase the film today, we will also be looking into how to best support the heroes fighting for democracy in Hong Kong. I thoroughly enjoyed the Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon ride! (Read below for the story!) The queue felt like I was AT NBC Studios! It was so cool! Next time I will look around more! But it's easily my new favorite ride. . It was very difficult for me to buckle the seatbelt. In fact, I thought I wouldn't be able to ride because I couldn't get it buckled. They had me leave (I was in a wheelchair because you have to park the scooters outside) and took me to the family room, where people wait for the child swap. I was on the verge of tears when the team leader came to talk to me. He said he would try to buckle the seatbelt for me before they opened the doors to let other people in. He even let Hannah & Matthew ride again with me! It took a few minutes but he was able to get it clicked! I was so happy! It was the one ride I had been looking forward to. Most chronic illnesses are invisible. When we go to the Disney parks, we typically use the ECVs.
