Best pastries in the world from @bukacph ft the beautiful hotel lobby at @25hourshotels_copenhagen 🥐 After a long day of walking, exploring and museums, we passed by Buka Bakery and picked up some lovely lil treats ❤️ The first one was undoubtedly unreal due to the lashings of pistachio cream in there. WOW. Pistachio is so in right now 💁🏻♀️ The other is a spandauer which is a traditional danish pastry, but this one was filled with vanilla and chocolate. Enjoyed with a couple of cocktails, this was a dreamy moment 🍹

Getting excited to return to Copenhagen in a couple weeks by looking back on my visit to @nomacph during my last trip. I was lucky to grab a spot at the shared table just a few days before arriving in Copenhagen. Noma was a bucket list restaurant for me after watching the Parts Unknown episode in which Anthony Bourdain visited. My visit was in September 2022 during the Vegetable Season and it did not disappoint. Every dish was unique and unlike anything I’d eaten before. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I’m excited to head back to Copenhagen soon to dine at some of the other amazing restaurants in the city, many of which have chefs who spent time at Noma.
We capped off the day with one of the best meals I have had in a while. We dined at Restaurant Karla which is a no frills family owned restaurant that serves traditional Danish food. I started with the shrimp cocktail, while P went for the potato soup (the best I have ever had!). Next, I couldn’t resist a second go of wienerschnitzel (the best I have had outside of Vienna!!) and P went with the beef. For dessert we shared homemade blueberry ice cream! Story Time: There was so much judgment on the faces of the people around me when the waiter brought all this food out for me. A solo female, dining alone. The couple next to me asked “is that really all for you?” And I said “yep!” I may have been a bit embarrassed, and i may left some chips on my plate. Glean, Copenhagen📍 Glean sell vegan Flødeboller in lots of different flavours, I went for salted caramel mocha but was extremely tempted by the lemon curd! Flødeboller is basically a chocolate coated marshmallow with a biscuit base, like a tea cake! Enjoyed the nice weather at @restauranthummer with a classic fish and chips with homemade remoulade 🐟🍴The fish was fried to PERFECTION but a bit too salty. The fries were disappointing and needed to be DROWNED in dipping sauce to disguise the raw taste 🥴Also not the biggest fan of their (home brewed?) Pilsner, however the atmosphere at Nyhavn was great. I managed to get one of the last tables going for a late Saturday lunch at @selma_copenhagen despite only booking my trip a week in advance; most weekend lunches are booked up for weeks, and I can see why! The food felt both homely and an indulgent treat, and the service was impeccable. A day of sunshine and the yummiest danishes ever 🫶🏻☀️🤤🥐 Saturdays activities consisted of walking in the sunshine and the below ☀️ - Apotek 57 coffee and bakery (breakfast plates) walk in 9am open on a Saturday- if you want a table ☀️ - Juno Bakery go and get treats!! A bit of a walk or metro away but WORTH IT!!! Defo try go on a weekday and when they open as the ques are long! We waited 30 mins! 🫶🏻🥐❤️ - Then we just walked around exploring!! Checked out more vintage shops - enjoyed the @guldsmedenhotels Manon Les Suites pool & had some cocktails in the spa 👙🌿 - then our final Dinner at Ruffino Osteria 🍝 (we pre booked)

Month two of this year’s quest of visiting bucket list countries brings us to Copenhagen, Denmark. Dinner was at one of the oldest restys in Copenhagen, Restaurant Puk which dates back to 1750. I had langoustine soup with freshly peeled shrimp to start, while P went with beef tartar accompanied by a local beer. For our mains, I had wiernerschnitzel with fresh local peas and fried potatoes and P had the fresh caught cod with mashed potatoes. Prior to arriving, I read that one must give the revered drink known as snaps a try, so a few sips of snaps accompanied our dessert of cloud like lemony mousse. Copenhagen, day three: Geranium. This was one of the best meals of our lives—right up there with Core—and a fitting way to celebrate six months at Trustpilot for Dave too! Nineteen dishes, and three hours later, we left feeling very happy and well fed. Everything at Geranium is so beautifully considered, from the way the lights in the kitchen cast bluebell-like shadows on the walls as the sun sets, to the beetroot cut into a translucent cherry blossom wreath...it was all perfection. We both opted for the juice pairing, mainly because we'd never seen one offered before, and it did actually enhance every dish. Loved the theatre of having juices smoked and shaken at the table too!
