Good morning! Happy Monday! Today I'm highlighting Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Coronado Springs is a moderate tier resort that is often referred to as being just as posh as a Deluxe. The Tower building is absolutely gorgeous and offers some great views of fireworks from Hollywood Studios (located very very close), or views looking out toward the lake that the resort is centered around. There are other rooms in the exterior buildings that surround the lake. My last stay at this resort was in one of those rooms, which offered a nice amount of space for my family and even though we were out in Ranchos (the furthest section out) we had an amazing location close to the bus stop we utilized. We could see the buses arriving and leaving and were still far enough back that the noise was not an issue. This made it very convenient when it came time to head out to the bus. I also really enjoy the American Southwest/ desert theme of the Ranchos section with beautiful landscaping and blooming cacti. The other sections are Cabanas and Casitas, each with their own individual charm. The main pool features a Mayan pyramid with a very cool slide. There's also a pool bar, playground, and tables for ping pong and courts for volleyball. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort - Disney Resort Series This resort is the most slept-on resort of all time at Disney. Because the "motel" style rooms take up the majority of the resort, Disney has put this resort in it's "Moderate" category, which means the rooms are relatively affordable compared to some of the newer/fancier resorts. But don't let that stop you! When booking, look for the Tower rooms, which are priced around the same price as the Casitas (the motel rooms), but are in the main tower hotel! The Coronado Tower reminds me a lot of the Riviera resort, but at almost half the price! What's super great about this resort is that it has an extension of suites mostly located in the Gran Destino Tower along with restaurants, bars & various recreational activities! 🏖✨⛱The rooms were refurbished a few years ago as well to be themed as the Three Caballeros! A new menu arrived for both of us, and though we were just there for Women’s History Month, we went back thanks to @glutenfreedairyfreedisney. What we got: - Mezcla de Verduras (Vegan, Gluten Free) - NEW - Gambas al Ajillo (Pescetarian) - NEW - Pan con Tomate (Vegan) - Sustainable Fish (Pescetarian, Gluten Free) - NEW - Chocolate Ganache Tart (Vegan, Gluten Free) - NEW - Braised Gigante Beans (Vegan, Gluten Free) - Brussels Sprouts (Vegan, Gluten Free) - Oaxaca Old Fashioned (Vegan) - NEW coming to the menu soon Two majestic olive trees stand tall in the center of the Toledo dining room because Spain supplies about half of the world’s olive oil. Toledo Tapas, Steak, & Seafood - Coronado Springs 💃🏻 Hands down one of our favorite places to eat on property! The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is stunning, and the views are expansive. They also have a gin drink here called the Gran Gala and it is not to be missed! 🥂 💃🏻 There are plenty of options for GF and GF/DF 🌱 While we did not get the vegan entree this time, our friend @glutenfreedairyfreedisney had it this same night and stated it was great! 💃🏻 The substitute GF bread is Udi’s brand. It does contain egg so know this going in if you are GF/vegan. 🍅 Pan con Tomate is our favorite appetizer here. I did not get it this time as we were staying Club Level and had this every evening. ❤️ 🍇 The chicken is a dish worth considering. It was recommended in the Michelin Guide and is a definite sleeper. 🥗 The salad pictured here was… interesting. The poached egg seemed just dropped on the bottom piece of lettuce. The anchovy were little drops under the romaine leaves. This means it was a very strong flavor on the bottom pieces, but not well mixed through the rest. Again… interesting. 🤷♀️ 🍰 The Mickey dessert is actually on the kids menu.. it’s yummy! The other dessert is new and is GF/vegan. I cannot tell you properly how good this is. Wowza!! ✨️Weekly Featured Resort ✨️ This week's featured resort is my personal favorite, Coronado Springs! ✨️ Coronado Springs Resort is a moderate resort with theming based on Spanish, Mexican, and southwest American cultures. You will find music, artwork, and food that reflects this. ✨️ Coronado Springs is set around a lake, with the lobby being in the Gran Destino Tower ✨️ If you stay in the Gran Destino Tower at this resort, you will be closest to a few of the restaurants and the lobby, as well as having a bus stop right outside of the tower ✨️ This resort is large, peaceful, romantic, and relaxing ✨️ The biggest downside is the only transportation option being the bus, and there is a large internal bus loop for this resort. ✨️ Overall, this resort can be a perfect option if you are looking for a relaxing stay, love the cultures and foods represented, and do not mind the bus transportation. Not goodbye but "see ya real soon," Coronado Springs! I'm so sad to leave, but so delighted to have experienced this beautiful resort. We chose it because of a huge room discount sale, but turns out it comes in very close to Animal Kingdom as a favorite. While there's no substitution for seeing giraffes from your balcony every morning, the ponds and green space around Coronado Springs means plenty of wildlife and the same evening symphony as at AK. Turns out I need the sounds and sights of wildlife and greenery to fully release tension and feel at home somewhere. Shocker, eh? Also, the food here was amazing and had plenty of options for a vegetarian. HusBeast loved his food too. The cast members were lovely, and quickly solved a major problem we had without batting an eye. I'll come here again in a heartbeat if AK isn't an option. I’m back! What a fun Disney vacation we had and I cannot wait to share all our fun with you! First things first; I want to share about Coronado Springs resort! It didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels with this resort. It’s GORGEOUS! This was my first time staying here and we opted for the Gran Destino Tower with a water view. Pros: So much fun here. Games everywhere, super great playground that sticks with the resort theming. Fun pool and water slide. I thought the food court food was delicious (try the Barbacoa Rice Bowl). It’s just as beautiful at night and right at the Gran Destino Tower is where you will find Movies Under the Stars. Plenty of seating to enjoy the views. Four bus stops on property, so you don’t have to walk far to get on a bus to the parks! Cons: This is a very large resort, mostly because of the water that the resort surrounds. If you find yourself staying here, I would highly recommend the Gran Destino Tower or at least staying preferred. While the pool and playground are more centralized, the food court, gift shop, bell services and bars are in the Gran Destino Tower so it could be a bit of a walk to snag a quick meal. Very minor Disney theming. Not that this is a deal breaker for me, but I think my daughter was missing it a little after staying in a Royal Guest Room last trip. I also personally did not prefer the way the split bathroom worked compared to other resorts, especially with a child with. Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only thing I wish it had was a balcony to enjoy those gorgeous views! It feels very deluxe without the price tag of deluxe (even if you upgrade to the Gran Destino Tower). I’m seriously considering swapping my next trip to here, but I’m torn on trying out another “new to me” resort! Have you stayed at Coronado Springs?
