TOSCANE... Pff met de kinderen zo'n eind rijden??!! En snachts? Moest er niet aan denken!! Dit is vaak 1 van de reacties die we krijgen als we op vakantie gaan. Daarom zal ik eens proberen te schetsen hoe een reis er bij ons ongeveer uitziet. We zijn om 16.40 uur weg gereden. Om een beetje rustig te kunnen inpakken en zonder ruzie tussen de kids of veel vragen van ze, hebben ze de hele middag achter de iPad gezeten. Zorgt voor ons voor de minste frustratie naar de kids toe. En daar komt bij: we hebben 2 weken geen iPads mee dus konden ze er even vollop van genieten 😂. Jeroen en ik hadden afgesproken om tot half 7 te rijden dan een mac Donald op te zoeken. Een korte Samenvatting van dat eerste stuk tot aan de mac: - mama mag ik snoep (we zijn de straat nog niet uit)? - papa wil je een podcast aanzetten? - papa wil je toch een liedje aanzetten? - mag ik een snoepje? - hoe lang nog? (Heel lang) NEEEEE ik bedoel hoe lang nog naar de Mac? - mag ik een snoepje? - ik heb honger - mag ik een snoepje? - memmie: #&€+38(€3+3@@??? (Saar) En dat de hele weg door. Niet te verstaan maar wel antwoord willen anders blijft ze huh huh zeggen - Joah en Ezra zitten samen achterin. Nou die hebben elkaar een paar keer bijna de auto uitgeslagen. - mag ik een snoepje ? Je snapt het wel:verre van relax het eerste stuk en druk bezig met alles in goede banen te leiden en vooral die twee die achterin zitten zonder kleerscheuren in Italië te krijgen. Dit is dus gelijk de reden waarom we snachts rijden! Bij de mac heerlijk gegeten kids lekker gespeeld en rond half 8 weer door. Daarna ging het perfect! Kids vielen al snel in slaap! Jeroen en ik wisselen elkaar om de 2 a 3 uur af. Als de ene rijdt en hard mee brult met de muziek slaapt de ander. Bij elke stop gaan kling!! De ogen van de kinderen open praten ze even nonstop 5 minuten en vallen daarna weer lekker inslaap! Om half 8 's ochtends zijn we aangekomen. Heerlijke dag bij het zwembad gehad en om half 9 lagen we gesloopt in bed! Voor ons is dit een prima reis en kijken we er goed op terug. Je moet de lat gewoon niet zo hoog leggen, dan kan het alleen maar meevallen!!

HAWAII - We’ve made a point take our kids to as many of the US State Capitol Buildings as possible. Though our daughter can’t we’ve with us this trip, today we took our son. As it’s Sunday we expected to go back later when open, but we’re surprised to see the Senate and House Chambers are visible from windows in an open air atrium. The building is an unusual 1960s design, which isn’t my favorite architectural style, but I have to admit the building really grew on me as we were there. Some of my personal favorite Capitol Buildings include: • Colorado - the front steps are exactly 1 mile above sea level. How cool is that?! • Iowa - 5 domes! And the center dome is 23-Ct Gold! Plus, the library inside is incredible • Minnesota - most people think instantly of the golden horses but for me it’s the dome - it is the 2nd largest self-supported marble dome in the world! Behind St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. Plus there’s a German Beer Hall (the Rathskeller) (now a cafeteria) in the basement. • New Mexico - It’s round! And an art museum inside. • Rhode Island - For such a small state, this building is HUGE! Plus when we visited they were filing the movie ‘Underdog’ inside and we met some of the cast. Dumb that I still haven’t seen the movie though! • Utah - I really enjoyed a self-imposed scavenger hunt to find all the beehive images! We hit the cute town of Moab as we waited for our time slot for Arches. This was a perfect Sunday morning; food trucks, donuts, ice cream, juices, chi, and all the art on the road. These last pictures are at the park on our way out. All in all, it was a great trip! We highly recommend it ♥️
