Happy 100th @disney ! Would you believe me if I said I wasn’t a Disney kid? Back in 1981 I was 5 years old. My Poppop and Dad won a trip to WDW for their agency sales with @statefarm . I didn’t head back until my Dad moved to Florida, I was 15 and begged my Dad to take me to Epcot. This is the day I fell in love with Disney. We didn’t have cable growing up, so no Disney Chanel for me. I did obsessively watch Beauty and the Beast on VHS on my tiny bedroom TV. This is how I relived the magic daily as a teen. I was in college in the 90’s) and we barely had internet, let alone cell phones. I walked by a poster that said Disney College Program. My senior year, 99’ I interviewed and selected out of over 400 applicants. They chose only 2 of us! The year of 2000 will be a year I will never forget. It changed the course of my life. I couldn’t work there after college b/c I needed to earn more $ to pay bills, so I started a non-Disney career. I went back to WDW every year since 2000 through 2018. In 2018 I discovered Run Disney. The obsession was real. My hubby and I always wanted to join DVC but it was a lot of money. Then my Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. I discovered the hard truth that tomorrow is never promised. We joined DVC in 2018 and stayed luxury for the first time. I cried our first night. George and I can’t have kids so when we found out my bro and SIL were pregnant, DVC was a no brainer. Our niece and now nephew- will grow up living the DVC life. Thank you Disney, for always being a safe place for me to escape to. We even went 4 times through covid. Now I’m living my best adult life. heading down there from TX about every 3 months. The best part? My first trip to WDW was sponsored from State Farm. I’ve worked at State Farm for 14 years, and they just turnend 100 last year. First off, congrats to this long time CP player, Logan Schmidt, on his dominant performance last week in Game 1 of their South Atlantic regionals and helping lead St. John’s River State College to the JUCO DII World Series in Enid, OK. Kid has had an outstanding season for the Vikings. It doesn’t surprise me as he has been pitching big games for us since he was 11 years old. Also a big shout out to Coach Tony Voiro. He has made his presence known since he arrived on campus last year helping lead the College of Central Florida Patriots to back to back JUCO DI World Series trips. Happy 25th Animal Kingdom!! AK is super special to me. I started my College Program June of 2020, AK had opened only 2 years before. It was my first park I went to when I started my CP because I had never been there. I didn’t grow up going to WDW (or any vacations) so I just had to see this new world! I do miss all of the fun characters they had, and the all you can eat Krispy cream donuts at the breakfast buffet 🤣. I also loved taking my Mom there back in the day. She loved it. I now love that my little Niece loves it too! I think it’s one of her favorite parks!
