Do you want to know two things really cool about January 23rd? Tomorrow begins the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure and it is also mine and my husband’s 16 year dating anniversary! If you don’t already know this, he and I met at Disney World as cast members. He was a driver/guide at Kilimanjaro Safaris and I was a dancer in the parade at Magic Kingdom. Our first date was to Animal Kingdom, we first held hands during Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios, he asked me to officially be his girlfriend on Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom, and then 8 months later gave me a promise ring during Illuminations at Epcot! Our dating life was pretty magical and life bringing our kiddos to Disney Parks has only gotten better since! We love bringing them to Disneyland at this time of year because the Lunar New Year at California Adventure is one of our favorite park celebrations. The Asian inspired food and unique entertainment are some of Disney’s bests! I used to walk into Hollywood Studios nearly every day when I lived and worked for Disney. This park is my “home” park and I absolutely love seeing all the Christmas decorations. I miss so much about this park from when I worked there, ( #osbornefamilyspectacleofdancinglights anyone???) but this park will always share a special place in my heart. Fun Christmas fact: the first time I spent Christmas away from my family was when I lived in FL and worked here. ✨🐭 LET’S GO TO DISNEY!! 🐭✨ One sleep left until Disney! I finished packing for my trip yesterday so I wanted to share 5 Disney Essentials that are ALWAYS in my park bag! 1. PONCHO 💧💧💧 You need a poncho for you, kids, strollers, bags, etc. Florida weather is all over the place so be prepared and avoid paying for one in the park! 2. Portable Charger ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Whether you decide to buy a fuel rod in the parks (highly recommend) or bring your own make sure you have a portable charger AND cord to keep all your devices alive all day! You don’t want to have a dead phone half way through the day when you’re just about to book your next Genie+ Lightning Lane! 3. Activities 🎨🃏👾 ESPECIALLY if you have little ones make sure you bring lots of activities to keep them busy when waiting in line for rides, the parades, the fireworks, your dinner reservation, etc! They keep everyone happy and entertained during the lulls of the day! I love Heads Up on my phone which has a free Disney Parks deck for when you’re in the parks! 4. PINS 📍📍📍 Pin Trading is super popular in WDW and FINALLY coming back after COVID! So breakout your pin collection, find your lanyard, and get trading! You never know what you’ll find! 5. Refillable Water Bottle ♻️♻️♻️ I like to bring a water bottle that can collapse so when I’m not using it, it fits nicely into my bag!
