A sweet volunteer took one of our puppies out on a field trip and here is what she had to say: Zena’s day out was a puppy dreamland! She went to Bell tower Coffee Shop where she sat with me for 4 hours!! She was surrounded by people, children, and even a cat and she was so calm. She got a pup cup and popsicle and loved every second of it! We then took a trip to Rhodes College where she ran around and played soccer and watched pickle ball! After a day full of adventures we went to the library where she slept quietly. She was very chill all day and did not bark once and every time we got in the car she went to sleep. Everyone that met her fell in love! She is the most perfect pup!! Etta has had quite the journey with us! We pulled her not knowing she was pregnant and then she had 11 healthy puppies @ettaslucky11 🐾 Most of her puppies have been adopted, but Etta is still looking for her forever home! She is an incredibly sweet girl and has been in two different foster homes and good with every person and dog she has met! She currently has 3 dog siblings, cat siblings, and a four- year old foster sister. Etta’s foster mom has told us how much Etta loves to snuggle and what a sweetheart she is! Update: Adopted 🐶🏠 Meet Hazelnut! Hazelnut was found with her two sisters in a box on the side of the road. Someone thought they were doing a good deed by bringing them to the city shelter, but sadly it was a death sentence. They were on the euthanasia list, so we swooped in and saved them. Hazelnut is the tiniest of her sisters and about 5 lbs. She is the most adorable nugget and loves to play and give all the cuddles. Update: Adopted 🐶🏠 Welcome Eevie (previously Jane) to our rescue. I named her Eevie because it means “live, living, or lively” and also “wanted or desired”. Sadly, Eevie was supposed to die today and I was the only person that inquired to save her. She was sitting in the euthanasia room because for whatever reason all the previous humans who cared for her, failed her. Everyone meet North (now Tucker)! He’s a petite guy at a whooping 19 lbs and about 2 years old and up for adoption through our rescue. I was contacted about Tucker, because he was going to be euthanized at MAS today. He was in the euthanasia room this morning and I wanted to save him but needed a foster. In rescue, we are so used to everyone getting upset about the city putting down dogs, but no one is willing to foster. Sometimes, it can get disheartening when we all have double digits at our house and people expect us to take on more but there is a limit to what we can physically handle and I am at my limit right now. 😉 This morning I texted my cousin asking her if she could foster to save his life and I was expecting a “I wish I could” or “I don’t have the time” or “I am sorry but I can’t” only because I hear it so often but instead she said “Of course I can take him to save him” and “when can I pick him up”. She got there so early they weren’t even open because she wanted to get him out as soon as possible. I wish more people had her attitude. If everyone fostered one dog, we wouldn’t have the problem we have in our city. 😭 Fostering is free, brings so much joy, and it’s incredibly rewarding to rehabilitate a dog and see them thrive. Fosters are heros. This morning he was in the euthanasia room waiting to die, and now he’s cuddled up to my cousin and aunt. Update: adopted 🐶🏠 Apparently, we are the puppy rescue now 😂🙈 Everyone welcome Snoopy, the 6 week old beagle into our rescue. 🥹 A Good Samaritan saved him from being given away for “free” (never a good idea bc ppl will take these free pups and use them as bait or for breeding in puppy mills 😭) so now he is safe with us!
