We're commemorating Rye Day the 13th with a 'Walk the Plank', a cocktail found at many Disney locations. This is Disney's take on the Eastern Whiskey Sour, a Trader Vic recipe that tiki-fies the classic Whiskey Sour. Today is James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes' birthday! To mark the occasion, I've come up with a Brooklyn Buck variation. A Buck cocktail is similar to a Mule made with ginger ale instead of ginger beer. A Brooklyn cocktail is made with Whiskey (usually Rye) and Maraschino liqueur. So I used a Cherry bourbon, fresh lime juice, Angostura bitters and ginger ale. And I find it more interesting than the cliche Poisoned Apple cocktail. This is a riff on a Daiquiri adding pineapple juice and aquafaba (for the froth instead of an egg white) ... a rummy but tasty little drink befitting a Princess. Instead venture inside the pavilion and you will see a walk-up bar as you enter on the right with line ropes set up! Introducing La Cava del Tequila! Trust me it’s worth the wait! I recommend the avocado if you want something new (pictured) or the blood orange versions! Fun fact: Neil Patrick Harris loves this place so much he has his own TABLE. They even have a tequila experience that you can add as an Enchanting Extra! And nothing is more American than the Moonshine Sour from the America Pavillion in Epcot. 🇺🇸 I enjoyed this for the first time last month ... and I gotta say, the one I just made is RIGHTEOUS! The recipe making the rounds on the interwebs is a bit too sweet for me ... here is my take: Moonshine Sour 2 1/2 oz Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine 1/2 oz Blackberry syrup 1/2 oz Lemon juice 3 oz Blood Orange Sour @finestcall_us Add everything to a shaker with ice / Shake well / Strain into a Collins glass / Fill with ice / Garnish with a blackberry 'Ain't that America?' ... soooo good!

Another request ... this one comes from Suzanne who wanted to know how to make the Tempting Tigress from Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom. I've had this before, and made a few attempts. But it was challenging to find the balance. So I visited Nomad Lounge a couple of weeks ago to try it again -- and hopefully speak with a bartender. And here it is ... 2 oz bourbon 3/4 oz tamarind syrup 1/2 oz lime juice 1/4 oz allspice dram Add all the ingredients to a shaker / Add ice / Shake for 10 seconds / Dump the contents of the shaker, ice and all, into a double rocks glass / Add more ice if needed / Garnish with a lime peel. Another request! Friend of the 'gram, Bob, asked for the Rye Not? found at the Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. The Rye Not? is a riff on a classic Rye Sour, the Ward Eight. The Ward Eight calls for Rye whiskey, orange juice, lemon juice and grenadine. The Rye Not? substitutes pineapple for orange and cinnamon syrup for the grenadine. Add a little Grand Marnier and you have a very nice cocktail. 2 oz Rye whiskey 1/2 oz pineapple juice 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz Grand Marnier 1/2 oz cinnamon syrup Fill a shaker with ice and add all ingredients / Shake well / Strain into a chilled coupe glass / Garnish with a Luxardo cherry / Enjoy!
