Lua’s face when I told her there’s a low temperature of 9* F next week (-13*C). PRACTICE Today we took the opportunity to go somewhere new and work on recall. We have noticed that when Elphas is somewhere new his recall can be very hit and miss. We also know that he needs to run around otherwise he doesn’t feel fulfilled. 30 mins in, he decided ferns were more interesting and he wasn’t coming back no matter how many times we called him back. Once we captured him (literally captured down a narrow path) he was back the lead and we did some more engagement and heel work. Everyday we keep finding things old and new to work on!

I am constantly reading posts saying you MUST muzzle train, crate train etc etc. Whilst I understand the reasoning behind it, despite breed traits every dog is unique & different training methods work for every dog so I’m not liking the YOU MUST or EVERY DOG At 9 years old I won’t be crate training or muzzle training Fin. I must add that I have nothing against crate training or muzzle training & both are great tools for lots of dogs. Fin is happy to go to the vets & be in a crate, despite having the trauma of a toe amputation with regular dressing changes, he has had multiple canine massages so is happy to be touched, happy to let me clip his nails, clean his teeth, take anything away from him & smoother him in kisses so I won’t be wasting my time training him to accept things that will be completely useless to his life going forward. #iknowmydogbest #mydog #dogsofinstagram #doglovers #doglove #dogslife #dogsworld #dogsinferns #newforest #gspsofinstagram #gsplovers #gsplife

Wherever your heart will lead you Handsome Wallace, with his beautiful icy eyes, has a heart full of love. Adopted by his current humans at 10 months old, this beautiful cutie has found in them a family that helps him flourish. Adorable and cuddly in addition to being handsome, we had to trick Wallace into posing because candies were more interesting than us 😅 But look, as I often say and I will continue to say it, even if he had a hard time keeping still, we managed to get some very nice pictures of him. You just have to adapt, and that's a point of honor in my work with animals. I adapt to them, to their desires and their personalities. Yesterday my neighbor called me out and said the FedEx and UPS drivers visit our house a lot. How many of you guys consider content creation your side hustle or full time gig? Between my regular 8-4 job, creating content on the side, and being a toddler mom - it is really easy for me to get overwhelmed and burn out. I’m also an enneagram 3 which means I’m constantly working towards the next thing. It can be a lot! So today I thought I would share some tips that help me manage my workload and prevent overwhelm: 📆 Plan your week in advance - every weekend I use a paper planner to schedule in to-dos, life events, and time to create and share content. This helps me map out my week and stay on track. 🏕 Give yourself permission to take a break from creating - most of my trips are just for fun, but it’s easy to feel pressure to constantly snap photos and get video footage - having a trip or weekend where you just relax once in a while is so important 📚 Batch content - I like to group tasks together and get them all done at once. I’ll schedule time each week for things like editing, shooting video footage, making reels and writing blog posts so I can knock out a bunch of stuff at once without switching between tasks or losing efficiency 👩🏽 Don’t try to mold yourself into someone you’re not! If you are naturally productive at night, don’t try to force yourself into being a morning person because you think you should! Make your schedule work for you and your preferences ✨Try something new - when I’m feeling stuck or getting frustrated with a shoot, I take a break and try something new. Maybe it’s taking family photos or learning about a new technique, but I’ll just change gears and try something that brings me joy! I love content creation, but I never want it to feel like a chore. Krum and Echo are still resting from their lure coursing trial on Sunday and Echo's super long demo dog day on Saturday, so I'm balancing the scales of attention (a constant struggle with 3 dogs), and taking Eisley to training tonight. Her breeder/trainer @blackridgegsd hasn't seen her for a while (not since her ears went up, I think), so we'll be talking tonight about entering her in her first show! I'm also going to be talking to @shelley_acres about showing one of her new puppies, which is super exciting! P.S. I am SUPER STOKED that I some how managed to get 2 fern photos of Krum.
