My last post mentioned a project I’ve been engaged in round a small pool in the New Forest for the last few years. This is a selection from the main body of the project so far, all made between December & April….the quiet time, a time of frosts & mists. It’s amazing how such a small area delivers changes & new opportunities over repeated visits. A source of inspiration here is the work of @jemsoutham who I first came across when he gave a talk in 2018. He has studied small areas he calls “sites” & the changes witnessed often over many years. I’ve a long way to go to catch up with that but I may add a “summer” component to my project in the coming seasons to go along with the “winter” selection here. Male Cuckoo, New Forest. Unbelievable few hours with what is now becoming an increasingly rare encounter - the arrival of the Cuckoo, males first followed by females a few weeks later. Many people now will never hear a Cuckoo in their lifetime, which relies on the success of other birds and insects to survive. It was once the sound of spring for many. Bucklers Hard in the New Forest National Park is a 18th century shipbuilding village on the stunning Beaulieu River. Boats for Admiral Lord Nelson were built here. 43 ships in total were built over its peak period including three that fought in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, HMS Euryalus, HMS Swiftsure and HMS Agamemnon. Today Bucklers Hard remains one of the top attractions in the New Forest National Park with a museum showcasing the importance of Buckler’s Hard. Despite the rather cloudy day, Hollie and I decided to go to the New Forest to have some forest walk and lots of chat. We have a lot to catch up with. After finding our perfect spot for our tent, we were more than happy to make ourselves a hot drink then go for a big walk around the forest. Zwitserland deel 7 Ik dacht dat ik onderhand niets meer te melden zou hebben....., maar gisterenavond om 21 uur werd ik nog gebeld door iemand van de NVWA. Of ik de tracescode via de mail had ontvangen, want ik was onvindbaar in het systeem. Nu is mijn vakantie gewoon particulier, maar kun je je papieren alleen regelen via een kvk nummer, dus mijn bedrijf. Vandaar dat de te naamstelling niet overeen kwam. Gelukkig wist iemand binnen hun organisatie wie ik was of hoe mijn bedrijf heet en ik had inderdaad de code via de mail ontvangen, dus dat kwam goed. Ware het niet dat aan de andere kant in dit geval in Zwitserland er ook een bedrijf bekend moet zijn. En het adres waar ik naar toe ga is gewoon particulier. Dus gisteravond laat had de Zwitserse instantie het adres afgekeurd, waardoor de papieren niet in orde gemaakt konden worden. Binnen Nederland is er weer met iemand contact gezocht die een hogere autorisatie in het systeem heeft, die nogmaals het adres toegevoegd heeft. Wanneer je dan als Nederlandse instantie de boel snel afrond is men in Zwitserland niet meer in staat om het te veranderen...... Zoiets dan🥵. Gelukkig was gisteren om 23.00 uur alles in orde en stonden ze vanmorgen om 7.15 op de stoep om Queenie te checken. Chip klopte, geen verwondingen en de kentekens klopte, ff wat documenten uitprinten in 2 talen en een krabbeltje hier en daar en we zijn eindelijk door het papierwerk heen. Meneer vertrouwde erop dat ik nu geen problemen bij de grens ga krijgen.....Duimen jullie mee? Ik weet zeker dat wanneer je dit vaker doet het een peuleschil is, maar zo'n eerste keer is echt ff zoektochtje. Wisten jullie trouwens dat er binnen de Benelux afspraken zijn, maar Duitsland daar niet aan meedoet. Dat wanneer je over de grens naar Duitsland rijdt je eigenlijk altijd een gezondheidsverklaring moet hebben voor je paard.... #onhandig
Zwitserland deel 5 Douane in Nederland Afgelopen maandag ben ik opzoek gegaan naar het douane kantoor in Duiven. 4 Trappen op naar boven (kak hopelijk is mijn conditie wel redelijk genoeg voor zwitserland 😅🥵) en daar bevond het loket. Een meneer die ook voor het eerst naar Zwitserland ging werd gevraagd of hij de goederen bij zich had.... Eh nee, nou dan kan ik u niet helpen meneer, maar eh het gaat om een schip.... Tja dan komt u maar op de dag van transport langs met uw schip.... Ik riep hem nog na wel op werkdagen en tussen 9 en 5. Hij zal toch op zaterdag met zijn schip in Duiven staan, afijn...... Gelukkig had ik Queenie wel bij mij en ging de douanemeneer op zoek naar de chip, links, rechts, voor en achterin de hals, maar het apparaat had er geen zin in. Ik peentjes zweten, want wanneer wordt zo'n chip nu gechecked normaal gesproken, hij zal toch niet ztuk zijn of verdwenen, maar gelukkig hij werd gevonden. Een kwartier later kon ik met de map onder mijn armen en een paar stempels en handtekeningen verder weer terug. Blij dat dit geregeld is nu kan ik op de dag zelf gewoon naast mijn huis de grens over en hoef ik niet eerst naar de Lutte of Duiven toe :-) Nu nog straks nog stempels halen duitsland uit Zwitserland in en op de terugweg Zwitserland uit en Duitsland in🙏 En uiteraard hopen dat donderdag de NVWA dierenarts komt opdagen ;-)
Zwitserland deel 6 Te spontane actie😁? Wel of niet in 1 keer naar Zwitserland rijden? Wat is fijnste voor het paard in 1 keer door en maar 1 keer op vreemd terrein aankomen of in 2 keer en dan 2 keer op een vreemde plek uitgeladen worden. De meningen liepen nogal uit 1. Maar na wikken en wegen had ik besloten om in 1 keer door te rijden. Alleen liever niet in mijn eentje. Om Armin mee te laten reizen en dan alleen de hele rit terug of met de trein vond ik gezien ook alle veulens geen optie. Maar ik dacht creatief te zijn. Op diverse facebook pagina's zoals 'ontdek Zwitserland' en 'Lift gezocht/aangeboden' deed ik een oproep wie met E achter B mee wilde reizen naar Zwitserland. Ik dacht niet geschoten is altijd mis. Prompt kreeg in 2 reacties, maar niet de van Pennymeisjes zoals ik zelf natuurlijk al helemaal bedacht had, maar van meneren uit het westen van het land......😅...Nu is er niets mis met meneren uit het westen, maar opeens bedacht ik mij dat ik helemaal niet nagedacht had over het reizen met een volledig onbekende. Naast dat je niet weet wat je in de auto haalt, moet het ook maar klikken. Nou lang verhaal kort, meneer 1 kreeg niet genoeg dagen vrij en meneer 2 zag het niet zitten , vond het toch wel een heel spannende reis..... Oke toedels... 🙋♀️ daar zit ik niet op te wachten iemand die het nog spannender vind dan ik haha. Plannen omgegooid en ik reis lekker relaxed in 2 dagen en overnacht ergens halverwege in Duitsland in een paardenhotel. Geen gedoe met in het donker rijden of in het donker moeten tanken, gewoon lekker overdag, met zeeën van tijd mocht er onderweg iets tegen zitten. Als goed is kom ik daar 's middags aan en kan ik rustig mijn zadeltassen inrichten, tuig nog ff poetsen en Mijn reisverzekering gecheckt en mijn ANWB abonnement opgeschaald... Heb er onwijs veel zin in. Even er tussen uit, samen met een paardenvriendinnetje op bezoek bij mijn lieve paardenvriend Matthias Geysen. Genieten van de natuur en de omgeving en verder laat ik mij helemaal verrassen.
Update de naam is geworden Coco Chjanel Nog ff tussendoor net zojuist geboren om 17.10 ons 2de merrie veulen.... Heihoeve's Gouverneur x Spoekedammetje's Nick Nu weer een merrie naam met Jan erin verzinnen. Haar broer van vorig jaar heet Christijan Dior... Het andere veulen heeft ook nog geen definitieve naam Hellup we lopen achter...
Zwitserland deel 3 Het leed dat hoefschoenen heet!! Nee hoor gekkigheid, maar eerlijk is eerlijk ...Ik had er de (hoef)ballen verstand van. En omdat ik in Zwitserland toch ander terrein tegen kom dan hier in NL wilde ik graag de ijzerloze hoefjes van mijn lieve merrie beschermen. Gelukkig ben ik via via bij EquiSchoen Hoefschoenen terecht gekomen en werd ik geweldig geholpen door Marjanka Lever. Allereerst moest ik foto's maken van de hoeven met een centimeter erop. Aan de hand daarvan heeft Marjanka diverse 'Passchelpen' opgestuurd. De Scootboots paste het fijnst bij Queenie, dus mijn keus viel daarop in overleg uiteraard met Marjanka. Nadat ik helder had welke maten geschikt waren stuurde Marjanka een huurpaar 'Scootboots" met 'mud straps' en 'endurance gaiter' naar mij op ( wanneer ik nu chinees voor je praat kan ik je de hand schudden ;-) ). Eerst maar eens wat voorzichtige buitenritjes, maar gisteren via Duitsland een wat langere rit gemaakt en hierbij ook over oneffen bodem gereden. De hoefschoenen bleven prima zitten en de pasmodellen heb ik inmiddels weer terug gestuurd. Mijn eigen paar is onderweg, dus weer wat geregeld voor mijn tripje naar Zwitserland :-)
Zie vorige bericht... Aan het einde van de dag werd ik gebeld door de mevrouw van KVK die had gezegd omdat het een hobbymatige vakantie betrof het niet nodig zou zijn, dat ze een fout had gemaakt...Carnet ATA was wel degelijk nodig, ivm Zitserland en geen EU. Oke, dus via de site van Kvk de aanvraag ingediend. Dit moet heel precies, want mijn aanvraag werd tot 3 keer toe afgewezen. Alle gegevens van jouw paard, zijnde het product dat in en uitgevoerd wordt moesten ingevoerd worden. Toen ik dit eindelijk op de goede plek had gedaan, werd het als nog afgewezen. Maar voor het product moet echt HORSE staan en voor de naam van het paard moet ook echt NAME staan en voor de kleur ook echt COLOR, anders zou de Mare Dancing Queen ook zomaar een zeecontainer kroepoek kunnen zijn natuurlijk😂 Blij dus met de mail dat mijn Carnet ATA rond is.....Nog wel een kleinigheidje, moet nog ff naar Duiven heen en weer rijden naar het grenskantoor om hem daadwerkelijk geldig te maken......... Ach ja die tijd tover ik ook nog wel ergens vandaan ;-)
Wat was ik blij dat ik gisteren eindelijk mijn Carnet ATA rond had....... Mijn wattes .....⁉️⁉️ Om mijn paard mee te kunnen nemen naar Zwitserland moet ik een gezondheidsverklaring, Carnet ATA en Traces hebben. Maar het viel niet mee om dit te regelen (vond ik dan, voor alles een eerste keer 😏 ). Allereerst contact gezocht met de NVWA, de eerste meneer die ik sprak wist mij zo bang te maken dat ik bijna niet meer durfde te gaan😱. De papieren, diploma's die je volgens hem moest hebben en het risico op je paard nooit meer terug zien als er ook maar iets niet zou kloppen deed mijn plezier op het leuke vooruitzicht als sneeuw❄️ voor de zon☀️ verdwijnen. Nu wist ik wel dat ik via een omweg in het keuzemenu bij deze meneer was terecht gekomen en er ook nog een rechtstreekse route bleek te zijn. Een paar dagen later teruggebeld📞 en direct de goede keuzes in het menu gemaakt en terecht gekomen bij iemand die mij gerust kon stellen en mij stap voor stap wilde helpen. Dus gezondheidskeuring aangevraagd en een dag voor vertrek wordt Queenie gechecked door speciale dierenarts en ook wordt er naar auto en trailer🚛 gekeken. Ik heb dan 48 uur de tijd⌚ om Nederland te verlaten met haar. Vervolgens wordt door hen ook de Traces geregeld, dit kun jezelf doen, maar tegen betaling wordt het voor je gedaan en gezien ik door de bomen het bos🌳🌳 niet zag..... Vervolgens de kvk gebeld voor de aanvraag van het Carnet.. U heeft geen Carnet nodig mevrouw, want het is vakantie met uw paard....Ja maar iedereen zegt dat ik het nodig heb omdat Zwitserland buiten de EU valt. Nee hoor we hebben op dit vlak afspraken dus in dit geval gelden de zelfde regels als bij EU-landen. Oke , mooi scheelt een hoop kosten, maar het knaagde wel aan mij. Die meneer die had gezegd als er ook maar iets niet klopt speelde weer op in mijn achterhoofd....en de vele mensen die toch echt Carnet ATA hadden genoemd. Gebeld met een transport bedrijf, die verwees mij naar de Zwisterse Douane... in mijn beste houtje touwtje Duits die gebeld, waarna ik toch weer naar de Nederlandse KVK werd verwezen.....
