Happy T👅T, my furiends 🥰! So we got the radiologist notes back yesterday from the vet. The bone crumbling mentioned in our previous post is consistent with his age, but they also noticed narrowing of two particular discs that is fairly significant, so they do recommend pursuing a neurology consult/MRI and a potential surgery. We are still weighing our options and taking it day by day at this point. In the meantime, he is eating and going outside as normal, and still loves a nice 💩 roll and a sunbath in the sunny grass. Day 72/100 Meet Storm! This sweet Senior bulldog was found wandering around in her own. She was suffering from glaucoma in both eyes, and has recently undergone eye removal, as the vet felt it would alleviate her pain and improve her quality of life. She is hoping to find a family that can help her navigate the world through kindness and compassion. 💕 If you are interested in finding your new best friend, feel free to contact @orphansofthestorm. Tomorrow we are going to see a canine eye doctor. Prutske doesn't seem to see much anymore due to the cataracts. She doesn't enjoy going on walks anymore and hasn't wagged her tail in a while. I don't think I can afford surgery but I want to know what my options are and what the risks are. Pruske's friend Bob also had diabetes and cataracts. They played together Thursday morning and Thursday evening Bob was dead. He got worse during the afternoon and they rushed him to the vet. His eye pressure was through the roof and Bob was suffering. The only thing they could do was to remove his eyes. Bob also had a tumor on his liver and other ailments and his people decided to end his suffering. His story really scared me which is why I want to know what could happen and what I can do. If I have to eat beans on toast till the end of time, so be it. Today was the first warm sunny day, I washed prutske and let her dry on the balcony in the sun and then I trimmed her. On Saturday Sonia rescued Giselle, she is blind and around 12 years old. Giselle was at a pound, being kept with large dogs, her future was not safe. Apparently so! ❤ We take pride in the fact we never say no to a dog because they may be different or may take longer to find a home for - in fact, we thrive on it. Navy and Ziva - We have learned in the last few weeks while in foster care together that they are not as bonded as we may have thought. Both girls need a home - both have had their eyes removed secondary to a genetic disorder that rendered them almost blind in pain with their eyes. SO, we are looking for a home for them - together or separately - but one thing they both need is a least one happy friendly dog in their new home.
