Our 68 pound black and white terrier mix came to us recently with 2 other dogs. We got a call from a neighbor who stated there was a dog on a roof. Our officers arrived with the local PD, where they were able to safely get the dog off. The two other dogs (one being Beefy) were inside with a cloudy water bowl and chewed up plastic bits. Thankfully, Beefy did not ingest any foreign bodies and is as happy as ever! Although, he would be much happier in a home of his own. Beefy is a playful, 2-year-old boy who loves toys, especially playing tug-of-war and just being around people! Beefy is suggested to go to a home a solo-dog. He was in a foster home and was absolutely pleasant, however once he became comfy, he exhibited signs of guarding; due to this we recommend him to be in a home with teens (trainer discretion). Beefy is a handsome fella, that will provide hours of fun! Long mom post ahead, you’ve been warned 😂 At the vet today the vet said she thought she heard a heart murmur. Luckily it’s only at a grade 1-2 currently but we’re going back on the 19th to have him re-listened to. If she hears it again he’ll need to have an echocardiogram. Also he’s currently overweight (104 lbs! 😳) and they would like to see him down around 85. He just turned 5 in January and while I know this isn’t a death sentence by no means I’m still incredibly trepidicious. Does anybody have any experience with this? I’m trying to aggregate as many experiences as I can so I know what to expect. Also, does anybody have any experience with doggo weight loss? (especially with a lazy ass potato that sleeps at least 20 hours a day 🙄😂) I’m going to be going back to the office 4 days a week soon and that’s all he’s going to be able to do is sleep. Last Thursday the hubs noticed that Boog’s neck was swollen on the left side. Got him in at the vet to get it checked out the same day. Doc couldn’t find any liquid in it. It just so happens to have come about a week after Mox had attacked him on the same side so we thought infection. After a week of strong antibiotics and pain meds, it’s only gotten bigger. And some of his other lymph nodes are a little more swollen. It’s more than likely cancer and it seems aggressive with how large the mass is getting. It’s under his muscle and in a difficult area. The most they could do is open him up to biopsy but being in the location it is, even after confirmation, at his age, there’s nothing we can do. Boog turned 11 and n Dec 13. I have been beyond the moon lucky to have this boy 11 years!!!! He has been the biggest blessing in my life. He’s my soul. But I knew these times would come. Right now we are just going to spoil him even more than we already do until he lets us know it’s time. So hug your babies a little tighter and if you don’t mind, say a prayer for us. These next few weeks or however long we have are going to be filled with love and tears. Speaking of boopable noses - meet Peanut Brittle 😍 This handsome boy was found very thin, hungry, and in poor condition. Luckily he made his way to the MCSPCA where he’s been getting lots of love, and nutritious meals 😋 Peanut Brittle has put on a few pounds since his arrival and is now feeling much better! PB is a playful and loving little boy who’s around 3-years-young and 60lbs 💙 Since he’s still learning that food isn’t a luxury, he’ll need a family to gently guide him on his journey, especially when there are yummy snacks around!
