MATTING! Hi guys, I wanted to do a post about matting, what it is,& how bad it can be for our fur friends. Just so everyone knows, this person doesn't follow me here, they honestly didn't know how bad it was & we talked about it in great detail. This isn't a post to bash the owner, but to educate people with dogs who need haircutting. They are committed to coming back on a schedule now with the understanding that the dog should be surrendered if they can't keep the pet in a schedule. The other day, we had a small dog (under 10 lbs) that came in for a shavedown. The entire coat had turned into a layer of fur that wrapped around the dog. We call this level of severity: pelted. I think that is because you can shave the entire thing off with it all stuck together 🙃 The pics show 1- the matted coat filling those gallon sized bags. 2- the dog the way she was dropped off before shaving. 3- the dog partially shaved. You can see I'm holding up what looks like the pups entire ear, but it was just the matting covering the ear. 4- an example of pelting. 5- The dog after her shavedown. Here are some big problems that can result from severe matting: - the dog looses it's ability to regulate their own temperature because they are essentially wearing a heavy fur coat that doesn't breathe. - the skin can become quite red & irritated. They can result in a rash or set off excessive licking or chewing to the newly exposed skin. - the mats can trap parasites, bacteria, and fungus, leaving your pet stuck with that mess up against their skin. - constant pulling. Any of you who have had long hair have at some point had a ponytail that was pulled too tight. Then, every movement causes constant pulling against the skin. I can even get headaches from it. Imagine that all over your entire body! - loss of blood flow to certain areas. Ears are especially vulnerable to this. The mats can essentially kill off those parts of the body. - you can't see what's happening! We found multiple stickers & even a tick in this dogs mats! Imagine having a sharp silticker poking into your skin nonstop! Please make sure to get your pets groomed regularly to prevent this avoidable problem ❤️🐩✂️

After reading, let me know your thoughts in the comments. Do you agree? You want to know the most common way we tend to screw up our lives? It might actually be something you do. I know I use to do it. It probably seems "logical" and "rational" but doing so is cancerous and will almost certainly destroy our futures. What is it? The most common way we screw up our lives is by projecting our current circumstances well into the future. Say for example we were laid off from work and had to resort to working retail for $300 a week-- something I was once forced to do. Now, one with a positive mental attitude is going to stay focused regardless of such a bleak situation. They have their definite purpose and they know any day could be the turning point in their life; in fact, they expect it to be, each and everyday they wake up. "Good things are coming my way!" A las, this doesn't seem to be what the majority does though. Instead, what's more likely is that the person in such a situation will feel confined and trapped in that situation. They'll see themselves making the same measly $300 a year from now, probably even longer. Such a person likely has no definite aims and ambitions and instead let's their current circumstances define them. This is the mistake. Because why would anyone do their best if they had no hope for the future? Why bother without faith? Faith is what drives us forward after all. But if we feel stuck in our current position and start to see our life as being defined by our bleak current circumstances, we are setting ourselves up to fail. Instead, in order to do our best, we should ALWAYS expect the best and even plan our future with the best in mind. Sound delusional and irrational? Knowing we only had a few hours before the storms would come in, my dad & I set of on his first kayak fishing adventure! 😎🎣 Dad wanted to catch a keeper redfish. Limited on time, we only took frozen shrimp, & caught pinfish to use while we were out. We fished 3 spots, finding only catfish & a ladyfish in the first two. 😫🙄 We could see the storm approaching, but both of us really wanted him to catch a redfish, so we were pushing the limits hoping he would. 😬🤞 Spot #2 is pretty productive on an outgoing tide, & we weren't there long before I changed tactics. I wanted us to get to a more protected area that would still be productive in case the storm snuck up on us. Using cut & live pinfish, we both had a few hit & runs, but no hookups. Could see the storms building, but just needed that one redfish. 🐟🤞 Suddenly, my rod starts screaming!😃 Wrong person, but I did reel in a very feisty 19.5" redfish! He was lucky dad didn't catch him, because I released him to swim away!😉 ❤️🐟👋 Next catch was a hungry, low slot trout! 💥🐟 Dad, still getting the knack of kayak fishing & learning how to fish saltwater fish, had a few good hits, but never a good hookup. 😔 we'll change that!!😎💥🐟🙌 This will be a 2 part post (IG only allows short stories, not my books!😅💁♀️) On a side note, I would never, ever have my clients out in this kind of weather! My dad & I knew the risks we were talking, and would never recommend anyone to take such risks! Be safe, be smart, & consider this an example of what not to do!!
