*** 2 Photos *** I saw something fascinating when I took my #drone out to #VictoriaBeach to check out the ice conditions: A massive crack in the ice! It's not something that could be seen from the ground at all. I needed the high angle to be able to get a view on it. The crack in the first photo went all the way from the south side of #ElkIslandMB all the way down to the east side of #HillsideBeach which is about 8km! That's a lot of crack! It shows how massive areas of ice break off as the ice melts. The crack in the second photo is from the east side of Elk Island down to the east side of Sandy Bay. A family member was working in The Pas so we decided to do a day trip to meet up with him. We did some touristy things while waiting for his shift to end. We checked out the Sam Waller Museum first. It is such a nice little museum with so many interesting artifacts from the area. It's a great spot to learn about the history of The Pas and all the hard work that went into building up this community! 🥾 Planning to hike or run Mantario this year??🏃🏻♀️ We have done it a number of times, if you have questions ask away below! I was out for a short run to the first set of tracks and back this past weekend, no ticks, and few mosquitoes. It was still very wet in the low spots and completely unavoidable getting the feet wet. ALMOST all the snow was gone except for a few treacherous ice/snow sections on the hills. Some buds were just starting to form on the trees. Fine folks Aaron and Andrew have covered the full length of the trail with hand saws removing all the smaller deadfall, and limbing the big trees to make maneuvering easier! Huge thanks to them. This trail is an absolute rugged gem, I just wish more effort was put in place to maintain it. Hope you have a great weekend adventuring! Since 1882, the Cypress River Consolidated School No. 2357 has been a treasured establishment in Cypress River. It has been a hub of learning for countless generations and a vital part of the community. In 1958, it merged with other schools, uniting students from various locations. After decades of nurturing young minds, the school’s journey took a turn. 🧱✨ It closed its doors in 1966, but the school's legacy lives on as it transformed into a community museum that was open for nearly 20 years!
