Captivating Large French Bronze Sculpture “Allegory Of Loyalty” Signed Jean-Louis Grégoire (1840-1890). This large and absolutely gorgeous French bronze sculpture features a loving couple courting each other while holding a greyhound on a chain. Both of them have beautifully sculpted classical faces and they look at each other lovingly while holding hands. They’re standing on a wonderfully detailed terrace depicting the ground in the forest, with some leaves and branches and a waterside with water plants. The dog by their side can be interpreted as an allegorical symbol of loyal love. The detail and mesmerizing beauty of this work of Jean-Louis Grégoire is exceptional. The sculpture carries the signature “L. Gregoire” on the terrace and the foundry mark “Susse F. GG” on the lower back. Susse Frères was a top bronze foundry in Paris, renowned for their high quality of the bronze casts they made. This work is in an excellent state of preservation with its lively warm brown patina. France, circa 1870. Dimensions: 56 cm high, 40 cm wide and 19 cm deep. Вообще местами архитектура очень напоминает американскую. Видимо, вдохновлялись. Где-то же в Токио же есть и статуя свободы, ток не такая большая как в Штатах :) Еще прикольный аспект башни - из-за того, что она такая яркая, она отражается в окнах большого количества домов в округе. Выглядит прям сюрреалистически.

"The Big Bopper" Richardson. Tragically, the inexperienced 21-year-old local pilot led the plane only six miles before it crashed, claiming all their lives. In contrast to the formal "Day the Music Died" tribute at the nearby Surf Ballroom, where the trio performed their final concert just hours before the crash, the memorial at the crash site is a 🌾 #grassroots effort. Initially lacking a #monument, it was not until 1988 that #music enthusiast Ken Paquette crafted a stainless-steel tribute featuring a 🎸 guitar and three 🎙️ records with the musicians' names. In 2009, he added a memorial for the pilot. The #crash site has remained unchanged since 1959, a remote location in a vast Iowa field. A pair of Holly's iconic 🕶️ eyeglasses marks the entrance on the nearest farm road. Despite the long walk to the crash site, the worn patch of ground in front of the memorial indicates that numerous fans journey to pay their respects.

Mich beeindruckt das Kyffhäuser-Denkmal immer wieder. Von der Burg Kyffhausen ist nicht mehr so viel zu sehen, aber der Burgbrunnen mit seinen 176 Metern Tiefe beeindruckt. Er soll der tiefste Burgbrunnen der Welt sein. Ich gestehe dass ich das Bild mi den mittelalterlichen Figuren dazu gemogelt habe. Die findet man leider nicht auf dem Kyffhäuser.
