✨CEDAR BOG TRAIL✨ Cedar Bog is one of my favourite trails to hike in Birds Hill Park! It’s a 3.5 km loop that leads through a gorgeous and peaceful bog area with green cedars year round. Thinking back to this hike that @cwschaubroeck and I completed last month before the snow fell. There are some great photo opportunities along the way! We found some interesting twisted cedar trees and a cool mushroom. There are lots of friendly chickadees along the trail as well. A friendly little squirrel came up to me and playfully crawled around my arms and shoulders before hopping off and darting down the path. He stopped, gave me a roguish wink, and beckoned me further into the forest. "Uh...interesting," was all I said before decided to see what was up. After a little while of catching up to the little guy, him scampering further inwards, and catching up again...repeated several times, I noticed a chill in the air and it getting darker. Little squirrel suddenly vanished from sight. I was alone and the only sound I heard was the sound of my steps. A blanket of dread fell over me as I realized that I trapped. I had looked back and...the path was gone. The path I had just followed to get here just disappeared. swallowed up by the trees and undergrowth. It may have been sub-zero, but I was sweating. Sweating out of sheer panic. What do I do?! The more anxious I got, the colder and darker it got. Until.
