Earth tone winter layers. For those cold days it’s time to bring out the layers. This is a great time to mix in different items and create a unique combination. This is an earth tone combo where I started with the dark green pants then went from there. I switched in a crewneck over my usual Henley shirt as the base shirt then put a button up to make it a little more dressed up. I got so many DM’s about #bluelightblockingglasses from my story the other day, that I thought I’d make a quick wee lil post about them. Especially as we come closer to daylight savings & the confusing weirdness in routines that always brings☀️😜 Blue light blocking glasses are great, when used correctly & if you get a good brand. Like just about everything that’s trendy, there’s a lot of cheaper alternatives that don’t do jack sh*t, but hey they look pretty💁♀️ My favorite brand (that I’ve found so far) is @felixgrays ( #notspons) because you don’t trade fashion for functionality like you do with other clear lens blue blockers. ⭐️ Friday Favorite Things ⭐️ Another week has gone by and we get to say HELLO WEEKEND! Here are my favorite things for this week: 1) Felix Grays Blue Light Glasses These have been by my side for years! I'm a graphic designer and spend hours on the computer or on screen. I started getting headaches and heard from a friend about Felix Gray and how they helped her decrease her headaches...this was way before blue light blockers were mainstream! I grabbed myself a pair in a style I liked and the headache relief I experienced was immediate! I will forever wear my 'Grays' and they go everywhere with me! They are so well made and although we purchase Amazon blue light blockers for the kids because they are more abusive with their stuff, I found the high quality of my 'Grays' to be a stand out feature. 2) Pizzelle Cookies 😋 Yum! I find Pizzelle's at HomeGoods, Aldi and everywhere in between. Their macros are on point 🔥 and I like to use them crunched up in my jello bowls and ice cream. One of my favorite business tools is maybe one you'd least suspect - my computer glasses! I feel really lucky to say, I don't actually need to wear glasses (yet). But my screen time is now through the roof and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that. A while ago I started getting headaches and my eyes would get tired after being on my computer for a few hours. It was killing my productivity and ability to log those excessive hours required during this growth phase of my business. As much as I hate to admit it, lately I have been struggling a lot with my vision. I have been experiencing significantly decreased vision, migraines, and severe neck pain much more than I usually do. As much as I love being able to work from home teaching classes online, so much time using computer/tablet/phone screens has taken a toll. . Being legally blind already (I live with Stargardt’s Disease), the impacts on my vision have been tough to deal with. I have cut back my teaching schedule over the past few months, and tried to limit the time I am spending staring at screens, to try to improve the negative impacts on my body. But honestly, I needed another solution. So, I have taken a few steps to try to mitigate the frustrating impacts screen exposure has on my eyesight, headaches, and neck strain. . Despite having Stargardt’s, I have never considered wearing blue-light blocking glasses. I don’t wear glasses at all (except sunglasses when outside) as they do not help to improve my vision. But with everything going on, I needed to try something. I started to notice a difference immediately as I wore them while working on my computer/tablet (during non-teaching time). I am so impressed at the impact these glasses have had! My eyes feel less tired/scratchy when I wear them. In addition, the increased blurred/cloudy vision I was noticing has generally cleared up over the past few weeks as well! . While eyesight issues will always be an issue for me due to Stargardt’s, I am so incredibly glad I was able to take advantage of this teaching perk to try out these glasses! Anything that can help minimize the impacts of working on the computer, while still allowing me to teach remotely, is such a blessing!

As a software engineer, I spent 8 hours in front of the computer. And I use my phone and tablet for several hours. My eyes feel tired and discomfort. It's so strange to be taking finals all by myself in my little quarantine bubble. I decided to wear my polo today to make it feel more "normal". 😅 As the semester wraps up, I'm feeling extremely proud of my class, and every SPT that has had to make this transition to online PT school. It’s less so when it comes to the light from all our screen devices. 💙 Overexposure to Blue Light can lead to symptoms like eye strain, headaches, and sleep disruption, which is why I swear by my Blue Light-blocking glasses. Blue light glasses are truly a game changer. I sleep so much better when I wear mine all evening, up until I go to sleep. Blue light, emitted by our phones and laptops, can decrease our natural production of melatonin, making it super important to block exposure before heading to bed. Melatonin production really kicks in when the sun goes down. Which means you should be putting on your glasses as soon as it starts to get dark!
