Yesterday I had the most beautiful swim at Felixstowe. The swell and waves were big but fun, and the sea was so warm. I stayed in about 30 mins and kept getting back in as it was a gorgeous day. Tea by the sea What's better than a sea swim? Taking a friend in the sea for the first time with you! Well done @taz2418 for braving the cold and to Hope for taking photos. We had an amazing deep swim this morning. It was calm but a bit of a swell which was fun. The shingle was like quicksand, which made getting out impossible lol. Day 21 - Lunchtime dip at Old Felixstowe with the wonderful @mumventurer 💙 Great to have company for a lunchtime bob in the ocean. We didn't want to get out and go back to work! We talked about how much we love our swims and how lucky we are to have access to safe waters most of the time, but only with your support can we stop water companies dumping raw sewage into our rivers and seas for good! Day 12 - Old Felixstowe (becoming a habit!). Lovely quickly dip today as I had to get to my Wednesday classes, but it felt so good to cast off the working day and let the cold water wash away the stresses. Day 3 - Popped to Felixstowe for my first solo swim of the challenge. Had my entourage of 1 today, who was an expert towel handler. Hello February! ⛅️ ✨ Did you know that we can do so much more than we think? That are bodies are so much more capable than we feel? That our mindsets are so much stronger than we believe? It’s an acknowledged fact that we pledge to ignore everyday... My neighbour and her friends regularly swim in Felixstowe sea and have continued to do so throughout winter. Madness? Probably. However, I can’t imagine they do it necessarily for a leisurely swim, but because, simply, they can. I look upon their endeavour as an activity to test their confidence, fitness, age, health... and to regularly prove that they ARE capable, they ARE strong and they ARE more magnificent than the thoughts that kept them from doing so.
