Pushing myself out of my comfort zone lately and loving every single minute of it! Swimming this late in autumn is new for me, but I’ve never felt more alive and positively giddy (I can’t believe I’m using the word giddy, and yet I am because somehow it just fits 🤷🏼♀️) with unabashed delight than I did yesterday out in the surf waves at Waihi Beach. Writing wise, I’m still working on the new book but progress has been slow (well, slow for me). I’ve had to work through some things and remind myself that ultimately, I write for me. Because I love it. Because I can’t NOT write. But I also write because I have stories I want to tell, and incredible characters I long to create and share with you guys. The fact that so many of you love my books is the icing on the cake. A bonus. A happy, wonderful bonus that I’m incredibly grateful for. Thanks for sticking with me while I worked through some stuff and set myself some goals and intentions regarding what I want from my writing and how I see my future ❤️ The kids are back to school tomorrow (2 out of 3 are anyway, one is sick. Sigh.) So I will be cracking on with the new book with renewed vigour. Hope you’re all well xx

To mark the 92nd Anniversary of the 1932 Kinder Mass Trespass. A small group of us did our own Kinder swim trespass at Roadford Lake. The jungle drums got out as the ranger was waiting for those that arrived early at our chosen entry point, a good natured exchange of views were said and he left (unhappy) in the knowledge we were going in the water anyway (I arrived dead on time as always 😅) The groups take on the chat was that SWW or SW Lakes need to work with swimmers to make sure the enjoyment of the water is for all who wish to use it, and communicate with swimming groups so those who enjoy open water swimming know what progress is being made.
