December 2021 Fraser Island, Inskip to Cathedrals When thinking of hauling a 3 tonne, 22ft loaded van off the barge and across the sand, I admit we weren’t sure if it was going to be possible but decided to just go for it anyway as both the car and van were built and fitted out for these kinds of conditions. Unfortunately the barge came in and landed us at an awkward turning angle when disembarking, but after a bit of tweaking with the tyre pressure we sailed on out with ease. 75 MILE BEACH || This beautiful stretch of beach is actually a highway and it’s easy to see how it got its name. #75milebeach itself is not a safe place to swim due to its extreme nature with strong currents and large population of sharks, however it’s popular with fishermen with plenty of spots to pull up and throw a line in. There are plenty of things to stop and see along the way, including the Maheno shipwreck, the crystal clear water of Eli Creek and colourful sands of The Pinnacles.
