Tyler and Trinity's birthdays - the first with no furbaby to cuddle. I miss my furbabies ever single day. Every. Single. Day. This last week would have been their 17th birthday, which was the last year birthday Skeamer celebrated with us. Tyler and Trinity's last birthday they shared together and with us was their 10th. I choose to believe they are celebrating their 17th together in Heaven. This is my first furbaby birthday without Tyler, and 7th for his sister Trinity and I think the first time since 1990 we didn't have a furbaby to cuddle on their birthday at all. THe photos of Tyler on the stairs was from last year on his last birthday when he trotted down the stairs to have his sweet sixteen photos taken. I really didn't think that he would be gone just 3 months later. I will forever be grateful we got into the new house and I was able to spend so much time with him every single day. Tyler just broke the mold, and I don’t think any other cat could ever live up to him. I just can’t see myself loving another as much as especially him. I loved all my furbabies but Tyler was that extra special boy. I'm still trying to be grateful for the years we did have together but yes, my heart still hurts and my eyes still tear up because it is never enough time. So if you still have your furbaby with you today give them an extra snuggle. ✨Today I communicated with beautiful Coco in spirit. I didn’t know when she passed away. But she told me, “I am in the same family” with an image of a white dog. Her guardian Pauline giggled with surprise & explained that she adopted a white dog around one year later Coco crossed over. This white dog has her main personality traits similar to that of Coco. Recently Pauline also wondered if she is Coco. Now I understood why Coco said “I am in the same family” and why she was so happy! ✨Reincarnation can have many layers to it! We don’t quite know what it exactly is! But it is wonderful to see the way energy works, how it manifests itself in different forms & in different combinations! Recently, thanks to the magic of IG Threads, I learned that in Hawaii, they don't use the term "owner." Their word is "Kahu," meaning honored attendant, guardian, keeper of bones, and caretaker. I really like that sentiment. Not that I keep my dog's bones, and no judgment if you do! I just keep their ashes (if I can). I say that because when my dog Hank passed, it all happened so fast, and I was in no financial position to afford to get his ashes back, so...I never got 'em. 😔 Sad, because Hank enriched my life for 13 years. It's for that reason that I value pet artistry so much. Not everyone has a memory they can keep, admire, and touch. If you're a pet lover, you get it. You just want them back around. 30 days in... During one of the busiest and craziest seasons of life. But this was the only way I was able to get through it. By taking the extra time to focus on me, I've been able to go the extra distance for my athletes. My family. And everyone around me. Sure I've lost 5lbs (while keeping my muscle gain 💪) but more importantly, I have found a new love for mental toughness. An appreciation for pushing myself to do things I never would've done, and finding the joy in doing hard things. Because if you can practice doing hard things on a daily basis, then you can handle all the hard things life throws at you. I still have a ways to go, but I'm proud of these last 30 days. And I appreciate so much everyone that has shown me support and cheering me along the way. This girl is a miracle baby, we found Minni and her litter, 10 days old kittens abandoned in our society compound, bottle fed all three of them for weeks and she was the smallest and weakest one. Somehow she didn't get a good adoption prospect and I adopted her. She is super naughty and keeps Scotch on his feet. She is now 7 months old now, full of life and super inquisitive. We woke up twice at midnight to feed them, especially for Minni, she loved the bottle more than anything. Earlier this month, we celebrated Cambodian New Year by visiting and making offerings for the new year. We hope that everyone’s new year is going well. For us, this year has been challenging. We’ve both been dealing with the struggles of work/life balance. We’re also working through some personal grievances. But despite these struggles, we’ve had some moments to celebrate. We took a trip to Washington D.C. (a place long overdue on our list). We made a trip to Monterey Bay with the Wisman family. The Sok family welcomed their first grandchild. They also added a new puppy to their family. And lastly, we recently adopted a puppy named Snoopy. He’s the first dog adopted by us as a couple since we each had our own respective pets when we first started dating. Snoopy is definitely the beam of sunshine for us. We hope that everyone is doing well and hope that if your 2024 year has been a tough one, that it gets better for you.
