One of the cool things about having a driver guide was being able to see sites that we would have never found on our own. Early one morning, he brought us to this Garden of Remembrance which was dedicated to firefighters and Chaplain that lost their lives on 9/11. We are lucky enough to have a commemorative plaque displayed within the Northern Territory gardens for a very special person from our family and to have been able to visit this special place during our time here was a privilege. We were lucky enough to be able to catch the Andy Warhol exhibition in the @thehughlane Ronan has had this goal on his personal plan for the last few months and the exhibition did not disappoint. Day 646 Another day of exploring and learning in Canberra - and all free!! This morning we visited the Museum of Australian Democracy (MOAD) at Old Parliament House. Loved that they had a kids activity sheet to complete so they were interested and also a lot of interactive displays so they were engaged. Next stop was Boundless playground for lunch and a play before we headed to the Royal Australian Mint to do the tour and learn about the history of Australian coins and see them being made and the robots used in the process. While here Freddie also had his last Webex chat with his class at home and is excited that his year 2 teacher will be his year 3 teacher so he’ll actually get to meet her in person next year! Our final stop of the day was a personal one, my Pop (Michelle’s grandfather) was a WW2 war veteran and after he died my dad organised with DVA for a plaque to be placed in the Garden of Remembrance at Woden Cemetery to honour his memory and service to our country.
