Process: something in mark-making that’s so changeable with mood, material or meaning. I’m constantly trying to embrace different approaches to mark-making, not always being confined in comfort with my pens, but pushing myself to make things with more instant imprints and gestural energy - no outcome destinations in mind just play (and that’s okay). Making with ‘mistakes’ can be beautiful and very insightful after all. So today I am an octopus, alternating between quick swatches of more ‘painterly’ colour studies and mark-making meadows that require much more concentration and precision.
