I'm in love with my new seed starting trays. They're @burpeegardening brand. I've previously used a Jiffy brand tray that has a fabric liner around their pods. It seems to always restrict roots when I try to pot up. This Burpee kit came with pod pellets, a seed tray, a paddle to mix the pods, a clear cover, a water tray, and a nifty chart to write out what was planted. Fingers crossed I get some sprouts! About 25% of my original test seedlings have survived. But I am getting some marigolds to bloom. Big things coming! Got this pretty Phalaenopsis from TJs to try keeping an orchid in water culture. As I've previously shared, most of my plants are in semi-hydro. When I took it out of the substrate, it became clear why a lot of people (including myself) have failed with orchids. There were so many hearty roots jammed into a tiny cup, this baby would've eventually met its demise if kept that way. I was also surprised to find a soil plug from the nursery. Not a fan of those! Well, it's been over a week since this beauty moved into its new home and both spikes are strong and flowering. I may regret this, but I saw a rooted cutting for sale super cheap & couldn't pass it up! Monstera deliciosa is such a cool plant! It's name means: delicious monster. The leaves can grow up to 1.5m ! I go-ed to see Little Shop of Horrors @littleshopnyc at the Westside Theater. It is a great production. The set is cool and the Audrey II is big fun! The theater is small and haves a lot of cool things to make the show immersive. I very like the performances. All the performers are much talented. I liked the ladies who played Crystal, Chiffon, and Ronette (the Urchins). They all sing so good, they blend and harmonize but still have their distinct personalities. And they is funny. The Dentist is a crazy. I likes the way the Dentist is performed. I no like the dentist. The Mr. Mushnik we see-ed was making his debut in the role. He is also very good. Darren Criss as Seymour is good. I no know what I was expecting but I likes-ed his performance. Evan Rachel Wood as Audrey gived a powerful pawformance. My hoomans was crying and haved big feelings. I likes Little Shop of Horrors. Is great. Everybody should go sees it.

Hallo little rhubarb AND (photo 4) I see you little asparagus a peeping!!! And yes yes I need to do some weeding. So it seems out of all the rhubarb plants I lovingly planted last year, only two have made it through to now. Probably going to have to try planting some more and hopefully at some point in the next three years I will be able to actually make a crumble from my own garden!!! This whole growing your own sure does have its ups and downs and no mistake. As for my asparagus, year two is upon us and I know I'm going to have to restrain myself if I do get a lot popping up and only allowed to harvest some of them. Year three is where it gets good. This is what it looks like when you plant seeds too early 😬 😆 Buds are usually VERY exciting to see but knowing I can't put them outside yet is discouraging...but also expected when I couldn't wait to start planting. 🌱 The zinnia bud will be removed. I'm hoping that pinching it back will encourage the plant to grow two new stems, that will increase the amount of blooms. 🌸 The alyssum I didn't even see in the budding phase. The leaves you can see are not the happiest (yellow and brown) but the plants were happy enough to bloom. 🎃I have a bunch of different vines getting ready to bud. Also found out some of the pots I thought I labeled I did not 😬 so I'm 100% if this is a gourd or pumpkin. A few other cool things going on in my little green house: A nasturtium is multiply colored. The seeds I planted were not a variegated variety so I either got a different seed than what it was labeled or there's something else going on with this plant. I realized I can see the roots through the plastic craft organizer container I used. Usually in the pods and pots you don't get to see that. These marigolds are almost ready to pot up.
