After bunking down for the night in the truck's cabin, the snowstorm finally let up. But the ice? It was still hanging around like an unwanted guest. I've had my fair share of dreams about tearing it up at the Krystal Rally in Norway, but honestly, I always felt like I wasn't quite ready for it. Yet, there I was, on that late November day in 2023, the 21st to be exact, facing the music. I had to toughen up and tackle over 60 kilometers of icy roads to get to Ajalkalaki in Georgia, to feel some solid asphalt beneath my wheels. Despite facing daunting challenges, I found myself only 3-4 kilometers away from Vardaghbyur village. After spending two hours hunkered down in a truck cabin, waiting for the storm's fury to abate, the truck was finally pulled back onto the road, leaving me to brave the elements on my own. The #beauty of the #snowstorm #icestorm was going to fade really quickly due to the return to #spring weather so I went for a walk to take these #breathtaking images. I was mindful of #snow sliding off branches and landing on me. Even worse, I could hear large branches breaking and falling, usually on each other or on roads and paths blocking traffic for hours. I deliberately shook snow off low lying branches to release them back into the air. Some were frozen to the ground. Normally they are over 6' above ground.
