Jesus has dined with Pharisees before (Luke 7:36–50; 11:37–54). Now, however, He's with a ruler of the Pharisees: a man of that sect who holds some kind of synagogue or civil government leadership. It appears other Pharisees are present at the meal. During formal meals (Luke 14:15), the door would be left open and others who were not invited could quietly come in, stand along the walls, and listen to the conversation. That is likely where the man with dropsy is; he wouldn't be invited to dine because his condition makes him and anything he touches ceremonially unclean (Luke 14:1–2; Leviticus 15:4–12). It's also possible the host did invite the man, to tempt Jesus to heal on the Sabbath again. Fitting the setting, Jesus responds to the on-going conversation by asking a theological question. He has used this tactic before (Luke 6:9). Discussing such questions was common, and rabbis and lawyers would often debate, each using quotes from prior religious leaders to prove their point. The Pharisees know that Jesus' question is not just theoretical, however. He can and has healed on the Sabbath (Luke 6:6–11; 13:10–17). The Jews of Jesus' time are bound by the law God gave Moses on Mount Sinai and which Moses wrote down. Several hundred years later, the southern kingdom of Judah sinned against God so egregiously that God allowed Babylon to take them into exile. Seventy years after their exile, they were released to return to Jerusalem. The religious lawyers—scribes—were so afraid that God would send them to exile again, they created the "rabbinic law" or Oral Law. These laws created significantly more detail about what—supposedly—the Mosaic laws meant.

As the apostles dealt with the issue, they gave instructions on several broader topics with application for today: Unity within the church. In the early years of the church, as Gentile converts began joining Jewish believers in local fellowships, an issue arose concerning the eating of meat. Greco-Roman society was saturated with idol worship, and it was common for meat sold in the marketplace to have been consecrated as a sacrifice to false gods prior to its sale. The Jews would have nothing to do with such meat, wary of “unclean” food-handling practices and believing that to partake of consecrated meat was to give tacit approval of idol worship—kind of a “second-hand” idolatry. The Gentiles rejected the notion that such meat was tainted and held that they could eat meat sacrificed to idols without endorsing idolatry—they had not actually offered the sacrifice, after all. The matter was becoming a point of contention within the church. I tell you today that it matters not, so long as we bless the food we consume beforehand . Many today are using the war in Israel as a reason to boycott certain food chains .This is a bad move in the eyes of God because it brings hardship to many innocent families striving to survive in a already hard situation . Some months back I wrote that a tit for tat situation would arise because of their actions . Today all over Europe we see pockets or sections of society now demanding that supermarkets sell non halal meat and some are even promoting kosher meat as a alternative . Pretty soon the idea will catch on and for the west as a way to fight back against islamist properganda.. This is sheer stupidity on all concern because the only ones suffering for such action are as per usual the working class .

This prophecy is constantly looking back to the Old Testament and the prophets and what they did to give us clues about the Two Witnesses. These identifications with the miracles of Elijah and Moses mean that we should look back into the Old Testament for further clues about them. Certain things, like these miracles, have forced many commentators to conclude that the Two Witnesses will literally be these two prophets, Elijah and Moses. But God has never worked that way! God has never resurrected somebody from far in the past and brought him to a time of which he knew nothing about and given him authority to preach. Every time God acts, He uses someone from that particular time—from that particular era—who has grown up in that milieu, that environment, so that he is prepared for the work that he needs to do. If God is going to be consistent, He will not resurrect Moses and Elijah to do this end-time work. They would be "fish out of water." They would not understand what was happening in the world at the time of the end. Some have said the Two Witnesses will be Enoch and Elijah because those two were both translated, and their deaths are unrecorded. The Bible does not say how they died, where they were buried, or even how long they lived. In verse 4 is another one, as it specifically compares the Two Witnesses to Zerubbabel and Joshua. It is also said that the Two Witnesses are like John and James, the sons of Zebedee, in having a fiery zeal to do a spectacular work for God. The truth is that the Two Witnesses are actual men of the time, not resurrected saints, not angels from heaven, not prophets brought back after living in heaven for a few thousand years. These are all things that people have thought they might be.

This statement seems to be a continuation of a prophecy God gave the prophet Zechariah to show that God accomplishes things through the power of His Spirit (Zechariah 4:2-10). Olive oil symbolizes God’s Holy Spirit, and God encouraged Zerubbabel—the one who led the rebuilding of the temple—to remember that spiritual things would be accomplished by God’s Spirit and not by his own doing (verse 6). Isa Al-Masih Will Descend From the Heaven The Hadith of Abu Hurariah (Sahih Bukhari 4:55:657) says, “… surely (Jesus), the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind…” The Apostle Peter wrote the same thing, saying that Isa would come back in the same way as he was taken up into the sky (Injil, Acts 1:11). He and the other disciples saw this with their eyes open while Isa ascended into the sky. God Appointed Isa to Judge the World Neither the Quran nor the Hadith tell us why it’s Isa who will judge, yet the Quran says that Isa Al-Masih will be the sign of the judgment. “And (Jesus ) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment)…” (Qs 43:61). However, the Bible says clearly that God gave the authority to judge to Isa “(Jesus);…the Father [God] judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son [Kalimat Allah, Isa Al-Masih] absolute authority to judge” (Injil, John 5:22). Why? “. . . that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him” (Injil, John 5:24). The Hadith of Aburariah says that Isa will break the cross, kill pigs, and prohibit everything other than Islam. This statement contradicts the Injil. Why would Isa break the cross when the cross means salvation? It is also not possible that Isa would kill pigs. Why? Because pigs do not make us impure. Instead, it is what comes out of our heart which makes us impure, not what goes into our stomach (Injil, Mark 7:15). Also, why would Isa prohibit everything except Islam, when so much of what Islam teaches goes against what Isa himself taught in the Injil?

In the prior verse, He specifically said He would be the one to return and bring them to a prepared place (John 14:3). This idea contrasts what Christ said to His critics: that they would not find Him (John 7:32–34). Those who reject Christ cannot expect to be where He is going (John 8:21). The natural desire of human beings is to know everything—or at least the end results—before we commit. Following instructions without knowing the exact ends takes trust. Jesus is not telling the disciples to look at some goal, and work to achieve it. Rather, He's telling them they know "how" to get where they want to be, which is enough. Thomas will express confusion in the next verse, asking Jesus how it's possible to know "the way" if they don't even know where they're going.

The British Army has about 74,000 full-time troops, down from 102,000 in 2006. The government has promised to increase military spending but not the size of the army. This verse tells us the sixth angel poured his bowl on the river Euphrates. The contents of the bowl caused the river to dry up. Prior bowl judgments have either corrupted or destroyed most of the water on earth (Revelation 16:1–4). This judgment is not about corrupting or removing the use of this water. Rather, it seems to be about removing a barrier used for defensive purposes: preparing the way for invading kings from the east. The Euphrates is called "the great river" five times in Scripture. It was the eastern boundary of Israel's inheritance (Deuteronomy 1:7; 11:24). To some extent the river provided protection for Israel because it was difficult to cross and a wilderness to the west separated it from Canaan, the Promised Land. It flows almost 2,000 miles toward Palestine before making its way southeast to the Persian Gulf. In the first century, when Revelation was written, the Euphrates divided East from West, and the kingdoms of China and India lay beyond it to the east. Centuries earlier, the armies of Cyrus of Persia conquered Babylon by diverting the Euphrates that flowed through the city. They were able to march into Babylon on the dry river bed and capture the city. In the great tribulation, the eastern invader will cross the Euphrates, march through Babylon, and enter Palestine. The Euphrates River is a major water source in Western Asia. This 1,740 mile long rriver flows through Syria, Turkey and Iraq and serves a population of about 60 million people. Unfortunately, this major water source is drying up due to climate change, causing a disastrous effect on the people who rely on it.
