Une invitée particulière 🗝️ C’est un sentiment très étrange qui m’emplit à la fin de ma lecture. J’ai la sensation d’avoir adoré ce livre autant que je l’ai détesté. 🗝️ Tanya arrive dans la famille Merritt dans le cadre d’un programme d’échange. Tanya est l’invitée parfaite. Polie, serviable, elle s’intéresse à tous les membres de la famille et fait le maximum pour être inclue. Peut-être un peu trop, d’ailleurs. Et si elle cherchait à prendre la place d’un des enfants de la famille ? Qui est exactement cette étudiante britannique ? 🗝️ J’ai adoré cette histoire pour plusieurs raisons : c’est absolument addictif ! J’ai dévoré ce bouquin, j’ai dès le début été embarquée dans cette histoire de folie que je trouvais passionnante. Je n’avais qu’une envie : terminer le livre pour connaître le fin mot de l’histoire ! D’autant plus que l’intrigue est vraiment folle et de nombreux cliffhangers sont là pour nous donner envie de poursuivre ! Une chose est sûre : on ne s’ennuie pas. MAIS, j’ai aussi détesté cette histoire pour plusieurs raisons : crédibilité ZÉRO. La manière dont Tanya ment se voit à des kilomètres, la façon de Natalie agit avec elle n’est pas normale (elle l’aime comme sa fille alors qu’elle vient de la rencontrer ?!), et les « ma chérie » à tout-va, non… c’était trop. En plus, c’est tellement mal traduit que ça pique les yeux (je ne me suis toujours pas remise de « casse-toi une jambe »). 🗝️ Du coup… mi-figue, mi-raisin. Dommage, parce que c’était TRÈS bien parti ! 🗝️ Je suis curieuse de savoir ce que vous en avez pensé, n’hésitez pas à m’en parler 💬 🗝️

Jej zmagania są prawdziwe i często tak realistyczne, że czasami trzeba zrobić sobie przerwę, odetchnąć i przypomnieć sobie, że Lucy jest postacią fikcyjną. Jednak prowokująca do myślenia, prosta, ale elegancka narracja Elizabeth Strout sprawia, że czytając czułam się tak, jakbym stała się częścią jej historii. W pewnym sensie jestem, ponieważ pandemia w ten czy inny sposób dotknęła każdego z nas. Ponieważ historia przenosi nas przez rok 2020 – zarówno pandemię, jak i inne wydarzenia ze świata rzeczywistego, które wpłynęły na społeczny i polityczny krajobraz kraju – ton autora, gdy porusza drażliwe kwestie, pozostaje pełen szacunku, powściągliwości i, co najważniejsze, współczucia. Chociaż w tej historii pojawiają się odniesienia do niektórych postaci Strout z jej poprzednich powieści, spotykamy także kilka znajomych postaci, gdy ich ścieżki krzyżują się ze ścieżką Lucy. Introspekcyjna, wnikliwa i niezwykle realistyczna Lucy i morze Elizabeth Strout to znakomita powieść, którą bez wahania mogę polecić. Cualquiera puede pagar para tener uno; cualquiera puede pagar para ser uno. A través de diferentes relatos, la autora nos sumerge en el mundo de posibilidades que existen detrás de una tecnología emergente para la que aún no existen regulaciones. El lucro, morbo y los riesgos a la seguridad son algunos de los temas que se exploran a través las interacciones observador - observado. Dicho de este modo ¿quién tiene realmente el control sobre este tipo de relaciones? La novela no se limita a ser una crítica a lo monopólico de los avances tecnológicos sobre la vida cotidiana. Se ahonda en los sentimientos de abandono, vacío, incluso de olvido, para darle una explicación al refugio que muchas personas han encontrado al intentar vivir su vida a través de la de alguien más, como una especie de voyerismo (del que llegamos a sentir que formamos parte). Por qué, justo cuando bajemos este libro pensando “que personajes están dañados”, volveremos a scrollear en nuestro teléfono hasta encontrar algo que satisfaga nuestros propia necesidad de distracción y entretenimiento. Die einzelnen Kapitel gehen nahtlos ineinander über. Der Perspektivenwechsel und die kurzen Kapitel haben das Tempo hochgehalten. Die Spannung steigt kontinuierlich. Die Protagonisten werden detailliert dargestellt. Von Anfang an baut sich eine Spannung auf, die bis zum Schluss anhält. Dieses Thema hat bei mir von Beginn an ein Gänsehautgefühl hervorgerufen. Es zeigt sich, wozu Menschen fähig sind, mit ihrer Geldgier. Von mir gibt es eine absolute Leseempfehlung. The Bell Jar- Mixed Media Collage I’m not sure what’s in the air that’s causing half of the people I follow to ALSO be reading the The Bell Jar right now, but I had to read it for class this week and I was excited to finally collage again. Admittedly, I don’t love The Bell Jar as much as a lot of people do. I respect it a lot for the groundbreaking way it portrays the realistic (unglamorous) experience of depression, but it falls short of being as important to me as it is to others. Plath’s prose style isn’t my favorite, and I think it just fails to closely resonate as a result. That being said, it’s still incredibly rich and important, and finding elements to include in the collage was a lot of fun. (I also doodled a bookmark to match my cover of the book. J'ai également re-découvert une partie de l'histoire de France avec les guerres de religions entre les catholiques et les huguenots. J'ai prévu d'écouter le tome 2 toujours sur audible. Hallo Welt, meine Aufgabe diese Woche bei #Bookopoly von @Irvin L. Kendall lautet: Poste ein Zitat aus einem deiner Bücher, in dem etwas Dramatisches / Trauriges passiert. Die Auswahl fiel tatsächlich schwer, aber ich habe mich für Band 2 der McLain-Reihe entschieden. Hier also eine Szene aus ›Sam McLain – Verrat‹. Sam setzte sich auf eine der Liegen und versuchte seine Nerven in den Griff zu bekommen. Wenn er – so wie jetzt – auf Sparflamme lief, war er kaum in der Verfassung Unterricht zu geben, aber seine Schüler sitzen zu lassen, kam nicht infrage. Was ihn allerdings viel mehr beschäftigte als sein Ruf, war die Frage nach Nachschub. Resigniert griff er nach dem Handy und tippte eine SMS. ›Wann?‹ Er hasste es, nach dieser Nacht bei seinem Peiniger anzukommen, aber er musste wissen, wie es weiterging. Keine drei Sekunden später vibrierte sein Handy. ›Nicht vor Sonntagvormittag, Prinzessin.‹ Sam vergrub das Gesicht in den Händen. Das waren noch mindestens dreißig Stunden! Ohne es wirklich zu registrieren, griff er nach der Magnum. Selbst der Gedanke, dass Blake frei sein konnte, half langsam nicht mehr gegen die ständige Verzweiflung. Was in a reading slump but picked up a new read! The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson is pretty captivating and a fast paced novel. I’m hoping to finish it by tomorrow. Ali e Nino è un romanzo politico che porta alla scoperta di due culture differenti che, nonostante le difficoltà, sono in grado di convivere pacificamente e venirsi incontro. In una Baku cosmopolita, tra Oriente ed Occidente, agli albori della rivoluzione bolscevica si inseriscono le vicende dei due protagonisti: Ali Khan Shirvanshir, discendente di una famiglia nobile musulmana e Nino Kipiani, principessina georgiana cristiana. La tormentata storia d’amore fra i due protagonisti fa da sfondo e viene quasi utilizzata dall’autore come filo conduttore per narrare i conflitti culturali, geopolitici e religiosi attraverso gli occhi di Ali. Nonostante sia un romanzo del 1937, complice la nuova traduzione, è molto scorrevole e attuale, narrato in prima persona secondo il punto di vista di Ali. Sento di consigliarvelo se volete uscire dalla vostra comfort zone e scoprire nuovi orizzonti, tenendo a mente che non troverete l’appassionante storia d’amore protagonista della storia come vorrebbe suggerire la trama.
