Wow What a start to my Breast feeding journey I was always to nervous to try breastfeeding with my first little girl but this time I thought I would give it ago. I was recommended lansinoh by a friend and thought I would take a look at their products myself. They have been incredible don’t think I would have found my journey as easy with out them. The cream is a life saver it has stopped my nibbles from going sore and cracked I use it after every time I feed. The breast pads are so soft, I was using the disposable pads for the first week and found they rubbed my nibbles then I tried the lansinoh reusable and they are really soft and don’t rub and a plus is that they help the environment as can be used again and again. Then last of all the silicon breast pub I’ve found this better to use than my electric one. I place it on my boob when my baby is feeding from the other and it will natural catch and suck my milk I’m on week 3 a tend to her around 30ml max at the moment but I’m still only at the start of my journey so I know this will increase in time. Can you handle the heat? 🌡️Hehe. But seriously, if you need a lil help with let downs or want some relief from the over night engorgement then here's a lil inexpensive solution. These are @lansinohfamily, they come in a pack of 2 and sit in little covers. 💜I found them easy to use 💜They have a feel of a subtle heat for a 20 min session 💜They fit in my strapped pumping bra (not my strapless Medela one). 💜I've found myself reaching for them in the morning when I'm full from not pumping at night. 💜They can also be placed in the fridge for a cooling sensation if you have mastitis. Heat can: 🌡️increase circulation 🌡️open milk ducts 🌡️Speed up let dow *Moist heat gives best results but these do a good job when you don't have time to shower before a pump sesh.
• Freezing Milk • The rule of thumb that I follow for storing milk is the 666 rule.. 6 hours at room temperature 6 days in the fridge 6 months in the freezer I recently organised all my milk into gallon zip lock bags that I brought off Amazon as I knew I needed to start using some of it soon. I numbered each bag and stored them in months so that I knew which milk needed using first. Each gallon bag holds about 12 bags of milk. (Swipe to see) To store my milk when freezing I take all the air out of the bag and then lay flat in the freezer before transferring into the gallon bags. When it comes to using frozen milk you can defrost it 1 of 2 ways. 1. Leaving out on the side and defrosting at room temperature - this milk needs to be used within 1-2 hours 2. Leaving to defrost in the fridge - this milk needs using within 24 hours of the milk being fully defrosted/thawed Going forward I’m going to rotate my milk so that I freeze one bag a day and use a frozen bag for Violet’s feed or in purée as we’ve started weaning now. That way the milk in the freezer is as fresh as possible. I tend to freeze the day I’ve expressed the milk but you can freeze day 6 fridge milk. However, you risk it being on the turn when you freeze it if you wait that long. I personally find @lansinohfamily bags the best to use as they have a double zip seal to prevent leakage and the labelling tab is away from the milk so it’s easy to label before or after the milk goes into the bag. They come pre-sterilised and can be stored flat to save space.

Milk, milk, baby... It’s been three weeks now since I was kindly #gifted this @lansinohfamily breast pump & milk storage bags through @officialemmasdiary #parentsquad I’ve tried it in the morning, when I know I produce more milk, & in the evening when my supply is at its lowest. Whatever time of the day I’ve used the pump, it has far exceeded my expectations. I’ve been breastfeeding Hazel for 15 months now & I wish I had this pump at the beginning of our journey, it would have saved a lot of tears.
