How do you feel about going back to work after maternity leave (if that’s what you are doing)? ⁠ ⁠ Leaving your baby can be fraught with emotion and decision making; whether to do it at all, nursery or childminder, how will they cope without me, how will I cope without them? 😢⁠ ⁠ It’s a struggle the continues whatever age they are at. My children are a bit older and still had to adjust to mummy being back at work after a long period of being at home with them 24/7. And it was a period where I definitely lost ‘me’ in the process.⁠ ⁠ Now they have had a chance to see a new side to me that goes beyond mum. I hope it is one they will be proud of and in time will shape their attitudes to both the women in their lives and to the equality of relationships where home life has to be juggled more evenly.⁠ ⁠ But while I know it’s the right thing for me, and in turn for them too, the heartache is still real 😭.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⁠ How do you feel about the juggle? So this week is infertility awareness week, could I really let this week go by without posting a special grid post about this subject … the answer is absolutely not! Since opening up about our fertility struggles and miscarriage we seem to of helped a lot of people, my inbox has been inundated with messages and I’ve been able to give so many women advice about getting help when needed, and I’m so happy that we are breaking the silence on this as 1 in 7 couples will face fertility struggles. Here is our story, after loads of tests at our fertility clinic we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, I have very mild “slightly polycystic appearing ovaries” as the consultant called it but still have regular periods every 28 days and ovulate every single month without fail, Adams sperm tests came back normal , we were given two options to try tablets but the success rate was only 20% this is when we made the decision to embark on our IVF journey as the success rate was 50% and we didn’t want to waste any more time. I would say the IVF Journey has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through, full of ups and downs, disappointment, hope, excitement,set backs, pregnancy, happiness, miscarriage, grief and loneliness but it really is true the only things stronger than fear is hope and this is what keeps me going when things feel hard and gives me the motivation to try again, even on the darkest of days. IT'S BEEN A WHILE... Hello friends. For those who don't know me or incase you have forgotten me (I don't blame you 😅), my name is Fiona. I was born on a tiny island called #Malta and later moved to a tiny German city called Offenburg to live with my Russian German husband, Niko. Till about two years ago I was a #crueltyfreeblogger or content creator on my blog and social media accounts under the name #crueltyfreemalta. Then I became a mother to a tiring but sweet little boy who we called Peter and my content creation days came to a HALT. I have lost myself, lost my mind and haven't had the time to get up to date with the things I once knew. I feel like am a new person but I don't yet know her. All I know is that she's what's left from the old Fiona, a mother and still with the interest to live as ethical as she can. That explains one of the reasons why I have renamed my social media accounts and will be starting a new blog. We have been soaking up every minute of school holidays. After a stressful few weeks and needing to move home again which seems to be as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. Good morning everyone. How is your week going? My first week back at work is going OK but the weather has been awful. After a couple of nice days over the weekend, I put my heating back on on Monday. Breakfast done right at @marnies.menu’s house! Thank you for sharing. “Subo with weetbix and oat milk. Hard boiled egg. Watermelon. We tried her subo again today, this time with the nozzle for under 2’s. It was a big success! Marnie is definitely a fan and I’m a fan of how clean it makes Weetbix! We used it during the day for some yoghurt and fruit which was cool.” Our 5mm straw spout can be used from 6 months of age and is interchangeable with our 12mm original spout. The smaller spout is suitable for thinner purées, smoothies and yoghurt, and is easier for smaller mouths to use.

18 weeks postpartum tomorrow and this afternoon I did a 2.8mile run in 24.22 followed by a stretch with willow. . I am gradually upping my miles in preparation for Worthing 10k at the beginning of June. The run felt great and hard at the same time. Mentally this is so important for me. It’s time out in the countryside by myself doing something I love. Being a breast feeding mum which I love also has its challenges. Your timings are ruled by feeds and you also can’t go too far in case these timings change. Also 4 months of sleep deprivation is definitely starting to have its affects. . I just have to grab small amounts of time to do the things I love in between providing the love, support and interaction my kids need. Oh my Corey boy 💙 We recently went to @havenofficial for a weekend Friday - Monday. We came home Sunday morning. Saturday night we went to the disco and I could see the tension building in Corey’s body face demeanour. I asked a few times are you ok? He replied yep fine but I could just see it. By the time the childrens disco finished he burst out crying begging for home not as in the caravan but actual home. It all became too much for him. The noise the lights the people mostly the new routine. He couldn’t cope with the change he tried his absolute best bless him! He finds it extremely hard to sleep out. Even at his nans he’s can’t cope he needs his own bed and set bedtime otherwise he goes into a melt down. So we made the decision to come home and watching the pressures leave his body was enough to tell me we made the right choice. He had a fab time he enjoyed every minute but he’d reached his limit. And that’s ok my boy. We’re right there with you we will advocate and support for you always and forever 💙 My Corey Boy 💙
