Consistency is key. Keep practising the values you wish to embody. There’ll be times when we fail, forget, or don’t have the capacity in that moment. That’s normal, everyone falls short of their own expectations sometimes. All of us are only our ‘best’ selves some of the time. Most of the time, we’re our well-intentioned ‘real’ selves. That’s okay. Occasional faults don’t mean we should stop trying to live in line with our core values. Rather it can serve as a reminder to keep coming back to those values. Keep coming back to what you truly value and you’ll turn those values into a habit. As for me, I’ll keep trying to act with compassion, show affection, and respond with love.
