To the surprise of absolutely no one at this point, I’m back to talk about Scotland. 😂 These pictures was taken one year ago today at Loch Lubnaig. This was my favourite day in Scotland; we did the West Highlands, Lochs, and Castles tour with @rabbies_tours and had the most incredible, magical day. I was already loving Scotland, but this day trip made me fall head over heels in love. When we pulled up to Loch Lubnaig, it was like something from my own imagination brought to life - mountains, trees, calm water, fog, and low-lying clouds. It was moody, atmospheric, and absolutely breathtaking. Our guide (who was incredible, btw, and who most of my close friends know by name because I still mention him and all the things I learned from him that day 😆) was worried we might not appreciate the view because a lot of it was obscured by the fog, but I told him views like that were part of why I came to Scotland, and it was exactly what I'd hoped to see. 😍 I have a few mental happy place moments I invoke when I need to find inner peace or centre myself, and this moment, standing at Loch Lubnaig, is one of them. The fact we ended up there unexpectedly a second time a few days later on a different Rabbie’s tour (Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands) cemented this as a happy place for me. Eight years in rural North Florida. Platano Power t-shirts. So much of my identity has died here. I died to my old self. Not completely, though. That process will take a lifetime to complete. But enough, died, for me to be born again. Born this time, in His Spirit. By no act, glory, or will-power of my own. Today, I listened to another lecture from Grace Community Church about Puritans on the Family by Jeremy Walker. He preached how the Puritans believed that all our comfortable relations, the relationships we have with other people, are reflections of the great reality of Christ in His mercy toward us. Hence, the relation of my husband. I was brought to reflect on who my husband has become in the past eight years of living here together, the shedding of his identity as well, and the resurrection of the Spirit within him, too. It has greatly aided in mine. In our family. Our kids. The reality and truth itself is in Christ… and today I can sense more profoundly- what Christ has taken upon us both. Why we were brought out here. Who we were then. And the solace that we both find outside for His glory, in His garden, that He has allowed us to steward- together. In ancient Greek mythology, the #Moirai are personification of destiny. First of all, there was Clotho (Κλωθώ), the “Spinner”, tasked with the duty of weaving the threads of human’s life. Lachesis (Λάχεσις), the “Allotter”, was the second of the Moirai and her role was to measure the length of those threads. And lastly, the sister responsible for cutting the thread, ending the mortal life, was Atropos (Ἄτροπος), the “Inflexible”. The three Moirai are known in English as the Fates, a common motif in European polytheism, most frequently represented as a trio of goddesses. The Fates shape the destiny of each human, often expressed in textile metaphors such as spinning fibers into yarn, or weaving threads on a loom. The details: ✂️ Reminiscent of those from Disney’s #Hercules, Atropos’ scissors are dented, indicating some people’s thread couldn’t be cut. 📱 Instead of using a regular thread, I chose to use an iPhone cable, given the importance our mobile devices have in our day-to-day life. This is also why all the Fates are touching it except Clotho: she didn’t weave it. The behind-the-scenes video: The last slide of this carousel shows you exactly how I got this #selfportrait: I selected a location that matched my vision for the realm of #Hades, marked my positions on the ground with rocks and then used my phone to shoot remotely (my camera was on a tripod). In this clip I’m standing in the middle, where Lachesis is. To create her, I had to combine several shots: one for the head and main body, one for the right hand, one for the left hand and one for the cable. A few photos from last week’s short but sweet sleepover @wildhiveuk including a #sundaycarpic with old world charm ✨ We decided to break up our drive to the Yorkshire Dales with an overnight pitt stop at Callow Hall and were very glad we did. This was our second time visiting the hotel and we enjoyed it just as much 2nd time around with the twins in tow. It has such a lovely relaxed vibe, beautiful scenery and great food too (we didn’t make it down to the restaurant before the boys’ bed time but the team very kindly sent an absolute feast for us to enjoy on the deck of our cosy treehouse instead) ~Ad/Press Stay

Morning came so suddenly. The sun fought its way up behind grey clouds and painted the surface of the loch with rippling reflections. Mountains were standing still, like they have done for ages. In my mind I’m wondering what they have seen through all the centuries and past times. Who walked here before me and what happened to them? Oh how I wish these mountains and waters could talk and whisper all those secrets to my ear while grass is swishing in the wind like it has always done. I feel a raindrop on my face and I see how rain is making its way towards me above the mountains. It’s falling down like the most delicate veil of lace and when it finally reaches me, I let it soak my dress and hair. Wind starts to blow harder. As soon as the rain arrived, it was gone too and the sun peaks between floating clouds. Air is fresh and morning still young. I start walking and disappear into the moors where dry heather is waiting for its time to bloom. And when the day takes over, I watch how golden light is dancing between mountains and birds are flying high.

Creating calm 🤍 . . My studio was a right old mess when I walked in yesterday morning , not a clear desk top or floor space. I tidied up before I could start painting as I needed a clear mind and I get that from a clear, tidy space . I then completed my harbour painting and started another painting. On Thursday, I showcased my graduation collection at Wilson School of Design, where I spent 3 years furthering education in Fashion. I’m grateful for those of you who have come all the way to the venue to see my final work, as well as some new friends that I have made because of this wonderful night.
